Let’s practice a bit of brainwriting, shall we? Write the first thing that comes to mind after each
question. In this exercise, use as many metaphors as you can because that is what makes you
most creative.
1. If you were a foreigner in your country, what would you need?
If I were a foreigner in my country, I would need an ocean of time and a warm blanket that
would protect me from the breeze of waves that might pierce my skin.
2. If you were a baby, what would you need?
If I were a baby, I would need a warm blanket of affection for I am a fluffy cloud that needs to be
cared of.
3. If you were an old man, what would you need?
If I were an old man, I would need a burning candle as I am a flame that will later fade.
4. If you were a street kid, what would you need?
If I were a street kid, I would need roof in my head as I am a river, fluttering in freedom yet
needs a shed.
5. If you were a fish, what would you need?
If I were a fish, I would need a clear mud as I am a wave that keeps on striving in difficult
situation.
6. If you were living on the moon, what would you need?
If I were living on the moon, I would need a light in the darkness as I am a gleaming pearl.
