ABOUT YOUR ENGINE
NOTICE:
Read and follow these safety instucions and warnings before
attempting to operate your engine!
The model engine you have purchased will give you dependable
performance and can be a source of satisfaction ané pleasure if you
will sity follow these ixstructions and warnings as to its proper
and sate use. Remember, tis engine s nota. toy. bur precision —
built machine whose power is capable of hamming you and other if
abused, misused, or if you fail to observe these safety precautions
Don't let pleasure tum ito harm or even tragedy’ You alone are
responsible forthe safe operation of your engine! Act sensibly and
with cae at ll ines.
AT ALL TIMES;
|. Keep smail children and anyone who might be hurt while running
your engine away from you and the engine! Keep all spectators at
least 20 feet away!
2. Mount ihe engine securely in a solidest stand (available at your
dealer )or device using lock washers. DO NOT clamp the engine in
1 vise. When you mount the engine in a model , use « good quality (

4. Install the propeller with the cup/@4 Side facing you. Securely
tighten the proper nut agsinst the wasiter and the propeller: Use a
correct wrench for tightening. Propeller wrenches are available from
your detler for this purpose,
5. Keep your face and body away from the path of the propeller as
you star or run the engine. DO NOT lean over the engine to adjust
it while itis runaing.
6. Keep yourhands sway fom the propeller as mush as possible! Use
Chicken Stick” or electric starter for cranking the engine. Both are
available from your hobby dealer Follow the directions supplied with
these devices. DISREGARD any instructions in any manual that
speaks of wsing fingers!
7. Make all engine and carburetor adjustments from BEHIND the
rotating propeller.
8. To stop the engine, cut off the fuel supply or adjust the thretle
linkage to close end eat off the air supply. Pinch the fuel line or
Aisconnect the fuel Iine from the carburetor. Never use your hands,
fingers, or any ther part of your body to stop the propeller. DO NOT
‘THROW ANYTHING INTO A RUNNING ENGINE TO STOP
9, Discard any propellers with nicks, scratches, splits, cracks, or any
sign of wear or damage. NEVER ALTER, REPAIR, BENO, OR
SHAVE A PROPELLER! Normal engine vibration can loosen the
propeller, so inspect it fequently and tighten or replace if necessary
10, If you carry your mode! with the engine running, be especially
cautious. Keep your eye on the propeller, and keep away from
yourselfand others.
11. Under no circumstances should you fly “Control Line” models

WE RECOMMEND

B. Do not run the engine in an area containing loose gravel or sand,

Do not allow loose clothing (such as shirt sleeves, ties, or scarves)
to come near the propeller. Keep loose objects (pencils, rulers,
Screwecrivers) out of shirt pockets to prevent them from falling into
the propelic.

the propeller blades, This cause propeller fatigue
F, Keep all engine fuels in a safe place. Koop fuols sway from sparks,
‘excessive heat, or anything which could ignite te fuel. Remember,
‘model fuel is highly flammable and must be hanéled with extreme
ceution. Do not smoke while working on or running the engine or let
anyone smoke near the engme or is fuel supply.
CAUTION:
1 Model engines develop considerable heat as they rus, De-not ouch
any pat of your engte until it has cooled
2, Never run your engine it an enclosed place (garage, basement,
cc.) Model engines, lke automobile engines, exhaust deadly carbon
monoxide. Run your exgigeonly in a safe, well ~ ventilated area,
