How Covid-19 has affected our mental health:

The COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting economic recession have


negatively affected many people’s mental health. Young adults have
experienced a number of pandemic-related consequences, such as
closures of universities and loss of income, that may contribute to
poor mental health. During the pandemic, adults in households with
job loss or lower incomes report higher rates of symptoms of mental
illness than those who have their jobs. During the pandemic points
to concerns around poor mental health and well-being for children
and their parents, particularly mothers, as many are experiencing
challenges with school closures and lack of childcare.

How Children’s mental health was affected:

Children, away from their school, friends, and colleagues, staying at


home can have many questions about what is going out there. There
are some changes in their behaviours like:

 Excessive crying and annoying behaviour


 Increased sadness, depression, or worry
 Difficulties with concentration and attention
 Avoiding activities that they liked to enjoy before
How Elder’s mental health was affected:

Physical distancing due to the COVID‐19 outbreak can have drastic


negative effects on the mental health of the elderly. Family members
may witness any of the following changes to the behaviour of older
people
 Irritating and shouting behaviour
 Change in their sleeping and eating habits
 Getting Emotional

How to improve your mental health.

It’s important to take care of yourself and get the most from life.
These are the simple ways that can improve your mental health:
1. Regular exercise: Exercise releases chemicals in your brain
that make you feel good. Regular exercise can boost your self-
esteem and help you concentrate, sleep and feel better.

2. Eat Well: Food have a long-lasting effect on your mental health.


Your brain needs a mix of nutrients to stay healthy and
function well, just like the other organs in your body. Take a
balanced diet daily.

3. Take Break: A change of scene or a change of pace is good for


your mental health. It could be a five-minute pause from
cleaning your kitchen, a half-hour lunch break at work or a
weekend exploring somewhere new. Take a deep breath… and
relax.
4. Yoga or Meditation: Meditation also improves your mental
