A. DESCRIBING PEOPLE
I like one singer from Indonesia, Tulus. Tulus is a singer who is unique and liked by many
people. He has a fairly fat body and has a distinctive voice. So Tulus is very distinguishable
from other Indonesian singers. Apart from being a singer, Tulus is also a songwriter.
Tulus is also an architect graduated from the Catholic Parahyangan University in Bandung.
Tulus started his career by singing jazz music. Through several events such as community
events and campus events, Tulus further honed his talents. Through Sikuai Band, Tulus further
developed his musical ability with other band members.
Tulus has the first album made by a famous producer, Ari Renaldi. The Tulus album was
released by its own company, Tulus Record. Many of Tulus’ songs have been able to become
the top pop songs on many Indonesian radios. Even well-known magazines such as “Rolling
Stone Indonesia” also named him Rookie Editor of the Year 2013.

B. DESCRIBING FEELINGS
It was the middle of March. I traveled quite a long way from Pemalang to Semarang. I went
with a friend. We started our journey by train from Pemalang. The journey we took took about
2 hours. Inside the train the atmosphere is very crowded but still orderly. The bench we chose
can fit 6 people facing each other. This bench is made of iron covered with a little foam. We
sat facing each other with the other passengers. Even though we didn't know each other, over
time we greeted each other and chatted during the trip.
The atmosphere on the train was very calm. Especially when it's raining outside and leaving
a trace of dew on the glass, plus the melodious and seductive Javanese song that seduces the
eyes as if pampering to sleep. When it was getting dark, the atmosphere of the train seemed
quiet because the passengers were starting to fall asleep. The experience of traveling on the
train is very pleasant, especially being able to tell stories and exchange stories with other
passengers. I feel like repeating it as soon as possible.
C. DESCRIBING THINGS (PEMALANG REGENCY)
Pemalang Regency is a regency on the north coast of Central Java province in Indonesia.
Its capital is the town of Pemalang. The regency is bordered by the Java Sea in the north, in
the east by Pekalongan Regency, by Purbalingga Regency in the south, and by Tegal
Regency in the west. The geographical location of Pemalang Regency is in the northern part
of the lowlands, while the southern part is mountainous, with the peak of Mount Slamet (on
the border with Tegal and Purbalingga), the highest mountain in Central Java. Kali Comal
River is the largest, which empties into the Java Sea (Edge Pemalang).
The regency capital is located at the northwest tip of the regency, directly adjacent to the
Tegal regency. Pemalang is on the coastal road between Semarang and Surabaya Jakarta. In
addition there is a provincial road that connects Pemalang with Purbalingga. One of the
famous tourist attractions is the beach Pemalang thistle. From Semarang (Central Java
provincial capital), this district is approximately 135 km to the west, or if reached by land
vehicles takes approximately 3–4 hours. Pemalang regency specialties include nasi
grombyang (Grombyang Rice), Lontong Dekem (Dekem rice cake), Sate Loso (Loso Satay),
Sauto or Soto Tauto (kind of soup), Kue Kamir (Kamir Cake), Apem Comal.
