Reflection

Creative Reading Activities

Reading as one of the macro skills should be considered as one of the most important things to
learn inside the classroom. And teachers should be mindful of the activities that they are going to
provide in order to attain this learning competency. Being creative and effective are some of the most
important features that reading activities should be obtained. These aimed to achieve the intended
learning outcome and to build students’ interest in reading.

Some of the creative activities that teachers should try are those that can establish student’s
vocabulary and comprehension enrichment. This will serve as a gateway for them to understand a
language better, and and learn how to extract ideas from the texts that they have read. Additionally,
it can cater students through filling up their minds with new ideas and concepts that can support their
learning even in other areas. These activities also ensure that students are able to connect them with
their lives, or giving them the opportunities in real world tasks. Moreover, it can provide students
additional experience; which is to be involved in a collaborative activities with their classmates, peers,
teachers and even family members, as creative reading should have the guidance for more
knowledgeable others that will scaffold their learning.
