ACTIVITY 1

Instruction: Follow the tasks carefully.

1. Open Microsoft Excel Program.

2. Select Blank Workbook to open new excel document.

3. Rename and Change the Color of your Sheet tab. (Right

click on Sheet 1 tab and select Rename in the Popped-up shortcut Menu. Type Activity 1 and press Enter. Right
click on Activity 1 tab and point Tab Color in the Popped-up Shortcut Menu then select Red color.)

4. Saving Worksheet. (Click File Menu then click Save Us, select This PC and then select Documents / My
Documents. Name your document as your Grade-Section-GroupName then click Save button.)

5. Setting Margins. (In the Page Layout ribbon, in Page Setup group, click Margins then click Custom Margins. In
the windows/dialog box, click Margin Tab and change Top to .5”, Bottom to .5”, Right to .75” and Left to .75”.
then click Ok.)

6. Position cell pointer to cell D10 [Select D10 and type ACTIVITY 1. Then select this text and have it Boldfaced.

7. Merging range and setting cell style. (Highlight cells A10 to F10, click Home Menu then click Merge & Center
and in the Alignment group click Middle Align button. In the same Menu, in Styles Group, click Cell Styles then
find and click Heading 1 style.)

8. Entering text. (Starting from Cell A14 to C14 type LAST NAME, FIRST NAME and SCORE and have it centered.)

9. Entering data. (Starting from Cell A15 to A19 type 5 Last names of your classmates. In cell B15 to B19 type 5 First
names of your classmates. In B20 type TOTAL and in cell C15 to C19 enter the following numbers respectively
(45, 23, 67, 32, 20).)

10. (In cell D15 type the formula =C15 + C16) then press Enter.

11. (In cell D16 type the formula =C17/0) then press Enter.

12. (In cell D17 type the formula =C19^2) then press Enter.

13. (In cell D18 type the formula = - (C15*C19)) then press Enter.

14. (In cell D19 type the formula =50%*D17) then press Enter.

15. (In cell C20 type the formula =C15+C16+C17+B18+B19 ) then press Enter.

16. Applying borders on text. (Highlight cells A14 to D20, find the Borders button in Home Menu and then Click
arrow down beside it, find and click All Borders.

17. Position cell pointer to cell D26 (Select D26 and type MONTH AND BIRTHDAYS then, select this text and have it
Boldfaced. (Highlight cells A26 to F26, click Home Menu then click Merge & Center and in the Alignment group
click Middle Align button. In the same Menu, in Styles Group, click Cell Styles then find and click TITLE style.)

18. Entering Text. (In cell A28 to A43 type MONTH, January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August,
September, October, November, December, MEAN, MEDIAN and MODE

19. Entering Data. (Starting from Cell B28 to B40 type BIRTHDAYS, 13, 12, 8, 21, 20, 17, 3, 7, 3, 16, 3 and 10
respectively.)

20. Highlight cells A28 to B43, find the Borders button in Home Menu and then Click arrow down beside it, find and
click All Borders.

21. Using mean formula. (In cell B41 type the formula =AVERAGE(B29:B40) then press Enter.

22. Using median formula. (In cell B42 type the formula =MEDIAN(B29:B40) then press Enter.
23. Using mode formula. (In cell B43 type the formula =MODE(B29:B40) then press Enter.

24. From E29 to E32 type TOTAL NUMBER OF BIRTHDAYS, MOST NUMBER OF BIRTHDAYS, LEAST NUMBER OF
BIRTHDAYS, and NUMBER OF MONTHS respectively.

25. Using sum formula. (In cell F29 type the formula =SUM(B29:B40) then press Enter.

26. Using maximum formula. (In cell F30 type the formula =MAX(B29:B40) then press Enter.

27. Using minimum formula. (In cell F31 type the formula =MIN(B29:B40) then press Enter.

28. Using count formula. (In cell F32 type the formula =COUNT(B29:B40) then press Enter.

29. Highlight cells E29 to F32, find the Borders button in Home Menu and then Click arrow down beside it, find and
click All Borders.

30. Creating Pie Chart. (Highlight cells A29 to B40, in the Insert ribbon find Chart group, click Pie and in the Pie
selection, select your desired chart. Select and arrange chart on the right portion of the table.)

31. Ctrl S to save your work.
