SK Thermic Fluid Series

Modern industry requires enormous thermal energy for various purposes. To deliver this thermal energy, high
efficiency heat transfer fluids are necessary. Thermic Fluid cons tutes more than 99% Base Oil. With YUBASE, the
purest group III base oil in the world, our Thermic Fluid range exhibits enhanced features in comparison to most
major global players. SK's Thermic Fluid Range has outstanding oxida on stability, excellent thermal stability, very
high flash point and very good heat transfer efficiency.
Saturate contents of YUBASE and SK HBO are over 99.9% and this means that there are no contaminants in the base
oil and it has excellent thermal stability. This is because SK's base oils are produced in severe hydro-cracking process.
Compared with other lubricants that are made of API Group I/II, it offers longer drain interval through Outstanding
Thermal & Oxida ve Stability

Salient Features

± Outstanding Thermal Stability

SK Super Therm 200 & 300 boasts of outstanding thermal stability when exposed to heat, minimizing the
forma on of thermally decomposed materials. If you put the samples of each oil in a 150℃ convec on oven up to
200 hrs, by just adding 1% of YUBASE 6 in Group I base oil, thermal stability is drama cally improved. Vice versa,
if 1% of Group I base oil is added into YUBASE, the thermal stability performance is degraded

(Refer to the picture in the next page).

± Reduced Oil Vola lity
Reduced Oil Vola lity allows safer and eco-friendly working environment for the workers since less oil is
evaporated into the air, and obviously helps to reduce oil consump on

± High Oxida on Stability

Being made of special oxida on inhibitors & YUBASE's high oxida on stability, they minimize the forma on of
sludge that forms the circula on of sludge or lower heat transfer efficiency.

± Low Vaporiza on
SK Super Therm 200 & 300 prevents vapor lock in the circula on pump and cavita on, which is fatal to centrifugal
pump blades. In addi on, protec on is provided against vaporiza on losses and excessively high pressure during
normal opera on.

± High Thermal Efficiency

SK Super Therm 200 & 300 are not only thermally stable, but also efficient, which reduce fuel consump on and
extend the life me of heat transfer system

± High Flash Point

An extremely important parameter for a thermic fluid from safety aspect, flash point depicts the longevity of
opera onal life also as OEMs have specified rejec on limit

SK Super Therm FG

SK Super Therm FG is a highly efficient, non-toxic food grade thermic fluid that is safe for incidental food contact in
food processing plants. Made from severely hydro-cracked base stocks, SK Super Therm FG has outstanding
thermal and oxida on stability allowing opera on at high temperatures for extended periods. It is non-hazardous,
non-toxic, water white and odorless. SK Super Therm FG is also fouling resistant. This heat transfer fluid provides
excellent heat transmission and efficiency at the relevant opera ng temperatures. This ensures high heat transfer
rates requiring limited pumping energy. It also has a low vapour pressure, greatly reducing evapora on and
cavita on, elimina ng the need for high pressure piping and equipment.

General Characteristics

± SK Super Therm FG is recommended for use in non-pressurized, indirectly heated, closed loop, liquid phase heat
transfer systems used in food processing opera ons at temperatures up to 300˚C.
± SK Super Therm FG contains food grade an -oxidant to resist oxida on. Our exclusive addi ve, including a
proprietary outstanding food-grade an oxidant, ensures long, trouble-free opera on.
± SK Super Therm FG provides longer drain interval than other mineral type thermic fluid. This is engineered to give
unsurpassed levels of protec on and service life.

Recommendation & Specification

SK Super Therm FG is non-hazardous, non-toxic and odorless which means it

requires no special handling and is not considered a “controlled substance”
under United States OSHA, Canadian WHMIS or other work place
regula ons.
This meets NSF HT-1 Accredited.
Also meet USDA CFR Title 21 172.878 Compliant

SK Syn Therm HT

SK Syn Therm HT is synthe c heat transfer oil, which is high purified Hydrogenated Terphenyl base and op mized to
industry requirements. Due to its thermal stability, SK Syn Therm HT can be used for high temperature applica on
above 320℃ for longer and stable opera on of system.

General Characteristics

± Excellent Thermal Stability

SK Syn Therm HT is blended with Hydrogenated Terphenyl, known as the most thermal stable material among
heat transfer fluids. It can be applied up to 345℃ of bulk temperature base. Its excellent performance in heat
transfer provides high thermal efficiency.
± Low vapor pressure and non-corrosiveness
Li le vapor pressure increase brings easy adop on within recommended temperature range. In case of indirect
hea ng system, longer life is possible. Its non-corrosiveness protects metals of system suppor ng long and safe
opera on.
± Good compa bility
When mixed with other fluids, SK Syn Therm HT does not create any degrada on like floccula on or separa on
a er heated. Its mixture is stable without chemical reac on and property change.
