 This is an individual assignment.

 The submission format is in the form of an E-report. Please refer the “Turnitin Submission Rules”
that was posted on Moodle.
 The file on Turnitin must be in Word format and include the first page of this cover sheet. The
first page of the cover sheet should be in the picture format in order to ensure the accepted
similarity of Turnitin.
 The similarity allowed is up to 25% after excluding references.

 Ensure that authenticity declaration has been signed electronically.

Assessment Brief and Guidance:

ASSIGNMENT BRIEF

In this assignment, you are to choose an appropriate company (which currently operates in
Vietnam) so that you can collect information for strategic analysis. Your responsibility is to perform a
strategic analysis of the chosen company, using a number of concepts and analytical tools/frameworks in
business strategy. You are requested to write a report to:

1. Briefly introduce the company of your choice. (600 words)


You should briefly describe the chosen company, and its main products and markets.
2. Analyse the impact and influence which the macro environment has on the company and its
business strategies. (1000 words)
You should apply the PESTEL framework to analyse the current conditions in the notable sub-
environments (at least 04 out of 06) on reliable sources of data/information.
3. Evaluate and apply the outcomes of an analysis using Porter’s Five Forces model to a given
market sector. (800 words)
You should apply Porter’s Five Forces model evaluate the competitive forces of a given market sector for
the chosen company.
4. Assess an organisation’s internal environment and capabilities. (800 words)
You should analyse the internal resources and capabilities of the chosen company using the VRIO
framework.
5. Apply models, theories and concepts to assist with the understanding and interpretation of
strategic directions available to the chosen company (800 words)
You should combine the outcomes of the above analyses to devise a strategic direction for the chosen
company. Justification is essential for your recommended direction.
After presenting the strategic direction, you should produce a strategy implementation plan that has
objectives and priorities.
