We can say that the person is a good speaker when we can be

an effective listener. A good speaker is connected, connected to

themselves and connected to those who they talk to. All of these
qualities come together so the speaker sounds and looks like they know
what they're talking about. When a good speaker starts to speak it
draws your attention in because an effective speaker makes you feel
they're directly talking to you even though dozens or maybe thousands
of individuals are watching.

When I was in grade school I had always liked to speak in front of

many people. My teachers used to pick me as the MC (master of
ceremonies) on every program in school we have. I was so proud about
it since I'm confident and fluent on speaking that can always catch the
viewers' attention, but when the pandemic hit the confidence I built
started to torn. Almost a year of not interacting with other people
made my self esteem crumbled down to pieces.

However, today, I'm now starting again to build my confidence

since my favourite speaker motivated me to work on myself. She's a
blazing singer, songwriter, producer, director, actress, pioneering and
influential advocate for artists' rights, and philanthropist who have fans
throughout the world. One of the best selling music artist in history,
with nine original studio albums, two re-recorded studio albums whom
used her remarkable platform she earned to galvanize support for the
Equality Act to prevent discrimination on the basis of Sexual
Orientation and gender identity. She have also spoken out and
supported initiatives to protect women and girls from harassment and
sexual assaults, no other than Taylor Alison Swift. Her discography
straddles genres, and her narrative song writing are often inspired by
her personal life that has received critical praises and widespread
media coverages.

Dr. Alison Swift was invited to be one of the speakers at the New
York University for she will also be receiving her honorary doctorate of
Fine Arts and as a part of the class 2022. Not the type of doctor we
would want around incase of an emergency. Unless, our specific
emergency was that we desperately needed to hear a song or a catchy
hook and an intensely cathartic bridge section.

The way she delivers her speech was intense. It was so

mesmerizing and she herself is down-to-earth yet incredibly inspiring
and intelligent. Listening to her twenty minutes address, is like talking
to a wise woman. Thousands of people were listening around her yet
she still managed to caught their attentions. Her speech speaks about
her life on how she managed being publicly humiliated at a very young
age over and over again. She said it was excruciatingly painful but it
forced her to devalue the ridiculous notion of minute by minute ever
fluctuating social relevance likability. Taylor just used a part of the
script along with her experiences in getting to where she is today,
which also shows how humble she is and how her words are very
influential and powerful to her fans and even to normal individuals.

"Life can be heavy especially if you try to carry it all once. Part of
growing up and moving into new chapters of our life is about catch and
release. Knowing what things to keep and what things to release. You
can't carry all things, all grudges, all enviable promotions your school
bully got. Decide what is yours to hold and let the rest go." Looking at
Taylor right now, she's very successful 'cause her mistakes lead her to
the best things of her life but those mistakes also caused her to loose
things in her life.

"The scary news is you're on your own now but the cool news is
you're on your own now." A confident communicator is someone who's
thoughtful with words, who recognizes the impact of language and has
facial expression that reflects the mood and texture of what's being
said. The way she delivered those words made me shiver. I'm not a
student of New York University nor a visitor but I can feel the impact of
her soothing voice, the way how good and effective speaker she is. I'd
say there isn't too many people who could put a twenty minutes
speech like that without stuttering or coughing.

Lastly, I admire how truthful and creative she is. I do not regret
stanning her since grade school. Her music and albums or even short
films are all masterpiece and so she is. To end this, I would like to
suggest my favourite song by Taylor Swift from the folklore album oh
her's, August. Communicating doesn't only evolve to actions, words,
gestures, and thoughts, music is also a way for us to communicate to
others by simply singing or listening.
