The speaker thanks the guidance counselor for the invitation to speak about life during the pandemic. They discuss how the pandemic led people to try new activities like TikTok dances and baking. The first part of the pandemic was difficult, with millions dying from COVID, hunger, and stress. People could not go out freely, hug, or celebrate together due to safety protocols. There were shortages of masks and supplies, job losses, overflowing hospitals, and closed schools that switched to online learning. Many experienced loneliness, depression, and anxiety during this uncertain time. Now vaccines are available and cases are decreasing, allowing a return to normal life. The pandemic taught people to appreciate family, friends, and the little things in life.

Hi, I’m Lea Sales your guest speaker for tonight’s episode.
First of all, I would like to thank and extend
my gratitude to our Guidance Counselor Mrs. Ma. Lourelia S. Amolato for inviting me here in your virtual meeting. During the pandemic we discovered lot of things in ourselves, right? Like we tried also things like making dalgona coffee, baking ube pandesal with cheese, cycling and jive along with tiktok that we promised to ourselves that we will not ever gonna dance on tiktok but we did! So I’m guilty about it. What we will talk about is THE LIFE IN PANDEMIC. Let me ask first, How are you? Does things doing well? Are you feeling sad? Happy? Tired? Or mixed emotions? It’s okay to feel that way, there goes a saying “it’s okay to not be okay” . Our life is a blessing, the first trimester of Pandemic loss millions of people all over the world and that includes our loved ones. People were slowly dying because of COVID, hunger and emotional stress. It feels like the world stops revolving, busy streets turned to peaceful street. The community has locked down, we can’t go outside if we have no necessary things to do. We can’t see smiles from other people anymore because of face mask and we can’t even identify them sometimes the only way to know their emotions is through their eyes. We can’t hug even shake our hands to our friends because we need to be 1.5 meter distance from them. Or else you will be fined by the government or worst be jailed. No more celebrations together with friends and relatives because we need to follow health protocols. We can’t complain about it since it is for the safety of everyone. Facemasks are out of stocks even tissue is out of stock in the grocery stores. The different company needs a retrenchment on their employees, so there is no job anymore it means no salary and if we have no salary no food to eat. The bed capacities has reached its limits in public and private hospitals. COVID patients are just lying down outside the hospital and some are on their private vehicles with attached oxygen tanks. Schools all over the world was closed and thanks to technology we have now we’re able to sustained it and used it as our tool to communicate to our teachers and classmates and this is what we call E-Learning or Online Learning. Students and teacher sometimes complains because of some adjustments but look, we’re still here willing to learn. Of course, the mental health some of us had emotional breakdowns because of loneliness. Who’s here never suffered depression and anxiety during the first trimester of pandemic? I bet almost all of us experienced and we all knew that feeling of being uncertain in everything, like we feel that it’s the world against you. Our emotions drives us sometimes and we forget that we’re not just hurting ourselves but also the people that surrounds us. Again, it’s okay to not be okay. Everything will be healed eventually. Now we have vaccines that can prevent us from the deadly virus, the vaccine that we prayed for during the struggle and the cases are decreasing, everything is getting back to normal one step at time. All we experienced during this pandemic is a lesson, Now we have we have learned to value more our siblings, parents and friends and love them even more. We learned more to value every little thing that matters in this world. We now value TIME for our family that we didn’t give before.- And here we are! We’ve come this far! You’re able to see me and hear my voice it means you’re still alive and that is a blessing. Our life is truly a blessing it is very precious and it’s all thanks to God!
I hope you’ve learned something and that ends it here, Thank you and May God bless you and your family. ***********END************
