IN ENGLISH IV WITH SCIENCE IV INTEGRATION

I. Objectives:

1. Use context clues to find meaning of unfamiliar words


(exemplification).
2. Realize the importance of waste segregation.
3. Tell personal stories and experiences by using appropriate gestures
and expressions in complete sentences.

At the end of the lesson, the learners should know how to
use context clues to find meaning of unfamiliar words
(exemplification).

Before reading the passage, find the meaning of difficult words:
B. Presentation
Reading of passage entitled “Experiment Time.” Answer the
questions that follow:

1. Who is the teacher in Science 4?


2. Are the pupils in section Malikhain willing to learn something new?
Read the part in the selection that proves that they are.
3. What materials did the pupil bring for the experiment?
4. Where did the pupils leave the materials?
5. If they left the materials for one week, how many days were the
materials expose to air, sun, water and other factors affecting their
condition?
6. Now , knowing that other materials undergo decay and others don’t,
what are the best practices in throwing away these materials?

C. Modeling/Teaching

Using the sentences taken from the text or passage, let us study the
teaching points in getting the meaning of words through definition clues.
(Present and discuss the slides in the powerpoint presentation)

How do we get the meaning of words using exemplification clues?


What are the appropriate ways to separate decaying from non- decaying
materials? Give the importance of waste segregation or proper waste
disposal.
