GROUP 3

PATTERNS IN NATURE
MEMBERS:

BATONGHINOG, JOHN RYAN

CRUZADO, JOHN FRANCIS
GUTIERREZ, CHRISTIAN ANDREI
ZAMORA, DANIEL
O BJECTIVES

To seek different patterns that exist in nature

and the local community
To classify and group observed pattern.
BILATERAL
SYMMETRY

involves the division of the animal through a midsagittal plane,

resulting in two superficially mirror images

ROTATIONAL
SYMMETRY

a pattern that we can turn a pattern by some degree

about a point and the pattern looks exactly the same
FRACTALS

These are never-ending patterns that are self-similar across different

scales. The image just reappears over and over again no matter how many
times the object is magnified.
TESSELATION

A tessellation is a repeating pattern of polygons that covers

a flat surface with no gaps or overlaps.
VORONOI

A Voronoi is a partition of a plane into regions

close to each of a given set of objects.
STRIPES

A pattern of bands or strips, often of the same

width and color along the length.
SPOTS

a small mark on a surface, such as a circular patch or stain,

differing in colour or texture from its surroundings
Conclusion:
Through this activity's observation, we can more easily identify the various patterns and orientations
that are all around us, particularly in the natural world and in our local area. After examining and categorizing
each image based on its patterns and orientations, we concluded our task. The majority of us believe that math
is solely there to cause us headaches and has little real-world application. However, this statement couldn't be
further from the truth; mathematics exists to enable us to comprehend our environment, or more specifically,
our world. Some of us even go so far as to claim that mathematics is the universal language since it allows us to
comprehend and address complicated issues that arise in both real life and academic contexts. Also, patterns
are infinite, almost everything that exists has a pattern that distinguishes the unique characteristics of that
existence. It is determined by using mathematics and science which help us construct the fundamental
component of patterns. The use of mathematics in our daily lives allows to understand how to interpret the
patterns and sequences in the world that define all its applications. In practically every aspect of life, including
the technologies we use every day and the natural world around us; mathematics is everywhere.
