How can you utilize arts to express yourself, your community, and your relation to

others?

- As a musician and a singer, I always utilize arts to express myself, my feelings,

and emotions through singing. I believe that singing is not just about rhythm,

melody, or even the high notes and low notes of the song because for me,

singing is about expressing your heart or your emotions. I sing when I’m happy,

sad, and even when I feel exhausted, singing would be my source of energy. I

also utilize arts on my community through singing as well because one of the

schools on our place use my voice for their school hymn and our barangay also

use my voice for Valenzuela hymn. I also used to sing “Kundiman songs” during

Filipino week not just on our school but also on our community. I also use singing

as an expression of appreciation and love to my family, friends, and my partner. I

use singing to also make them feel happy whenever they are sad, to cheer them

up whenever they are discouraged and many more. I believe that singing as an

example of arts is a great way for me to express myself, to express my love and

pride towards my community and country, including our culture, and lastly, to

express my appreciation and love towards my loved ones.

2. Why is art ageless and timeless? Support your answer by giving specific

example.

- Art is ageless and timeless because it doesn’t choose and need any specific age

and time to create an art that even people from the past up to this present time

use art to leave traces into this world. It also connects people of different
 generations, age groups, ethnicity, etc. The artists who create those arts that was

created in the past express their emotions, it also shows depth, complexity and

some elements that even people in the present was able to see those. A good

example to this are the Artifacts, cave drawings, buildings, traditions, technology,

songs, sculptures, paintings, and many others are evidence that art is ageless

and timeless. A specific example to this is our own National Anthem “Lupang

Hinirang”, this shows how ageless and timeless, and art is that even up to this

date, we sing this song with pride and joy and as a remembrance on how great

our country is and the time when we have our independence.

3. Why does art involve experience?

- I believe that experience through skill is not much needed because we can show

art through different ways, but what we need is an experience as a person

because, art needs emotions, expression of something, it has meanings etc. and

we cannot give those to the art if we don’t have experience in life that we can

share through art.
