Lesson Plan in MATH 1 & 2

(MULTI-GRADE CLASS)

I. Objectives: 

at the end of the discussion the students will be able to:  

GRADE 1

• Identify the di erent Philippine peso bills

• Recognize the colors each bills

• Write the value each coins and bills

• Appreciate the importance of each Philippine Peso Bill

GRADE 2 

• Write the value each coins and bills

• Comparing each peso bill to high, low, and equal value

• Counting each combination of peso bill

• Appreciate the importance of each Philippine Peso Bill 

II. Subject Matter:


a. Topic: Philippine Coins and Bill

Concept: 1. Philippine currency has 6 kinds of coins ( 1 centavo,

5 centavo, 10 centavo, 25 centavo, 1 peso, 5 peso,

and 10 peso)

2. Philippine currency has 6 kinds of bills ( 20 peso,

50 peso, 100 peso, 200 peso, 500 peso and

100 peso )

III. Procedure

A. Preliminary activities

Motivation

“Alright children were going play a game.”

This game called “Money Smart”

“For the instructions, Teacher will group you into 5 then per group you

have 4 members.”

“For the rst round, I will show the money and just guess how much the

worth of that money. And whoever can guess the money I showed they will

keep it for the next round.”

“Each group has 3 life, each mistake will reduce the life and when it is all

used up, that group will be eliminated. Just raised your hand if you know

the answer.”

“For the second ground, only the remaining groups in the rst round can

play in the second round.”

“You will count the money you guessed in the rst round then whichever

group has the largest amount of money they are the winner.”

“The game you have done today is all about Philippine Coins and Bill.”

“Can you give me some example of Philippine coins and bill?”

“Each Philippine bill and coin has its corresponding value.”

“In counting money, we count the bills and coins in pesos and centavos.”

“If the amounts in pesos are the same, we compare the amounts in

centavos in the same way we compare two-digit numbers.”

“For the 100 pesos we can use two 50 pesos or ten 10 pesos.”

“For the 5 pesos we can use ve 1 pesos.”

B. Generalization

“Remember class that each Philippine bill and coin has its corresponding

value. If the amounts in pesos are the same, we compare the amounts in

centavos in the same way we compare two-digit numbers.”

decimal point is used to separate pesos from centavos.”
