Inhalation Remove to fresh air. Keep patient warm and a t rest. If breathing is irregular
or stopped, admi nister arti ficial respiration. If unconscious place in recovery
position and seek med ical advice.
Ingestion If accidentl y swa llowed obtain immediate medical attention. Keep at rest. Do
not induce vomiti ng.
5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Specific h azards during fire As the prod uct contains cumbustible organic components, tire will prod uce
fighting dense black smoke containing ha zardous products of combustion (see section
I 0). Exposure to decomposi tion products may be a hazard to health. Cool
closed conta iners ex posed to fire with water spray. Do not allow run-off rrom
fire fighting to enter d rains or water courses.
Special protective eq uipment I n the event of tire, wear selt contained breathing apparatus.
for fire-fighters
Sui table extinguishing media Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.
Keep containers and surroundings cool with water spra y.
Extinguish ing media which Do NOT use water jet.
must not be used for safety
reasons
Personal pt·eca utions Use personal protecti ve equipment. Ventilate the area. Refer to protective
measures l isted i n sectio ns 7 and 8. Wear respiratory protection. Beware of
vapours accumulating to form explosive concentrations. Vapours can
accumulate in low areas. Remove all sou rces of ignition.
Environmental precautions : Try to prevent the material from entering drains or water cou rses. If the
product con taminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respecti ve authorities.
Methods for clea ning up Clean with detergen ts. Avoid solvents. Contain and collect spillage with non-
combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceus earth ,
verm iculite) and place in contai ner for disposal according to local I national
regulations (see section 1 3).
Additional advice Refer to section 1 5 for speci fie national regulation.
Handling
Safe handling advice Avoid exceeding of the given occupational ex posu re l imits (see section 8).
Use only in area provided with appropriate exhaust ventilation. Avoid contact
with skin, eyes and cloth ing. Smoking, eating and drinking should be
prohibited i n the application area. Avoid inhalation of vapour or mist. For
personal protection see section 8.
Advice on protection against Prevent the creation of flammable or explosi ve concentrations of vapou r in
fire and explosion air and avoid vapou r co ncentration higher than the occupatio nal exposure
limits. When transferring rrom one container to another app ly earthing
measures and use conductive hose material. No sparking tools should be
used. The product should onl y be used in areas rrom which all naked lights
and other sources of igni tion have been excluded. No smoking. The
accumulation of con tami nated rags and dry overspray, particularl y in spray
booth filters, may result in spontaneous combustion. Good housekeep ing
standards, regular safe removal of waste materials and regu lar maintenance of
spray booth filters wi l l minimise the risks of spontaneous combustion and
other fire hazards.

Requirements for storage areas Observe label precautions. Prevent u nau thorized access. Con tainers which
and containers a re opened must be carefull y resealed a nd kept upright to prevent lea kage.
Store between 5 and 25°C in a d ry, well venti lated place away from sou rces
of heat, ignition and direct su nlight. Sol vent vapours are heavier t han air and
may spread along floors. Vapours may form explosive mi x tures wit h air.
Electrical i nstalla tions I worki ng materials must com pl y with the
technocological safety sta nda rds. Keep away from sou rces of ignition - No
smoking. Store i n accordan ce with the pa rticula r national regulations (sec
section 15).
Advice on common storage Keep away fro m oxidising agen ts and strongl y acid or alkal ine materials.

Personal protection advice Use personal protective equipment. Ven tilate the area. Refer to protecti ve
measu res l isted i n sections 7 and 8. Wea r respiratory protection. Beware of
vapou rs accumulating to fonn explosi ve concen t rations. Vapours can
accumula te in low areas. Remove all sources of ign i tion.
Respira tory protection : Appl y techn ical measu res to compl y with the occupa tional ex posure limi ts.
Th is should be achieved by a good general extraction and "i f practicall y
feasible" by the use of local exhaust venti lation. I f the occu pational exposure
limits can not be met, in exceptional cases suitable respi ratory equipment
should be worn on l y for a short period of time.
Hand protection For prolonged or repeated contact use protective gloves. Barrier creams may
help to protect the exposed areas of ski n, they should however not be applied
once exposure has occurred. Skin shou ld be washed after contact.
E ye protection : Chem ical resistant goggles must be worn.
Skin a nd body protection Person nel should wear protecti ve cloth i ng. Skin should be washed after
contact. Worki ng clothes m ust not consist of texti les, wh ich show a
dangerous melting behaviou r in case of fire. Workers shou ld wear an ti static
footwear.
