GUIDELINES FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CORE VALUE ADVOCACIES

Maka-Diyos
Daily Devotional
Instructions:
Starting on November 7, 2022 until the end of the school year, each section will
conduct a daily devotional. This will be done during free time — before classes, during
lunch time, during vacant time, or after classes — so as not to disrupt classes. In each
section, there must be five (5) groups which will take turns in leading the session from
Monday to Friday. Each president or vice-president is tasked to take pictures during the
activity and send it to COUNCIL OF PRES AND VP’s (S.Y. 2022-2023) facebook-
messenger group chat thereafter.
Prayer Flow:
I. Prayer to Take Authority

In the name of Jesus, I take authority and I bind all powers and forces in the
air, in the ground, in the water, in the underground, in the netherworld, in
nature, and in fire.

You are the Lord over the entire universe, and I give You the Glory of Your
creation. In Your Name, Jesus, I bind all demonic forces that have come
against us and our families and I seal all of us in the protection of Your
Precious Blood that was shed for us on the Cross.

Mary, our Mother, we seek your protection and intercession with the Sacred
Heart of Jesus for us and our families, and surround us with your mantle of
love to discourage the enemy. St. Michael and our guardian angels, come
defend us and our families in battle against the evil ones that roam the earth.

In the name of Jesus, I bind and command all the powers and forces of evil to
depart right now away from us, our homes, and our lands, and I send you to
the foot of the Cross. And we thank you, Lord Jesus, for You are a faithful and
compassionate God.

Amen.

II. Opening Prayer

This is the personal prayer of the prayer leader to start the session. Follow
the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Contrition, Thanksgiving, and Supplication) format.
Adoration – Praise God for all that He is
Contrition – Confess your sins and ask to be forgiven
Thanksgiving – Thank God for everything He has done, is doing, and will do
Supplication – Present your requests to God

Example:
Dear Lord,

Adoration: We come before you humbly and we are grateful to be in Your

presence. Your creation abounds before us and we sit in wonder at Your feet.

Contrition: As sinners, we come to You today to ask forgiveness. Wash away

our sins, forgive us for thoughts and words which we say that do not reflect
our faith. Continue to build in us a more disciplined Christian who lives by
faith, so others may see your work in my life.

Thanksgiving: We thank you for your forgiveness and for always being by our
side. We thank you for the blessings you’ve bestowed on our lives and in
those around us. Our lives are not perfect but as we follow you, our faith
becomes stronger and our lives becomes more pure.

Supplications: Lastly, We’d like to request continued blessing in our lives and
for our friends and family. We know you are with us in challenging times.
Above all, help us to see the light through the darkest of days and to focus on
You. Keep distractions from of our minds.

In Your Holy Name,

Amen

III. Opening Song

A worship song will be played wherein the students take in the lyrics.

Example: 10 000 Reasons (Bless The Lord) by Matt Redman, Oceans by

Hillsong UNITED, What a Beautiful Name by Hillsong Worship, Safe by
Victory Worship, At the Cross by Hillsong Worship

IV. Gospel Reading

The prayer leader will read the gospel of the day. You may search for the
ROMAN CATHOLIC gospel of the day on the holy bible or on the internet.

Example:
Gospel of the Day (November 6, 2022): Gospel, Luke 20:27-38
27 Some Sadducees – those who argue that there is no resurrection –
approached him and they put this question to him,
28 ‘Master, Moses prescribed for us, if a man’s married brother dies childless,
the man must marry the widow to raise up children for his brother.
29 Well then, there were seven brothers; the first, having married a wife, died
childless.
30 The second
31 and then the third married the widow. And the same with all seven, they
died leaving no children.
32 Finally the woman herself died.
33 Now, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be, since she had been
married to all seven?’
34 Jesus replied, ‘The children of this world take wives and husbands,
35 but those who are judged worthy of a place in the other world and in the
resurrection from the dead do not marry
36 because they can no longer die, for they are the same as the angels, and
being children of the resurrection they are children of God.
37 And Moses himself implies that the dead rise again, in the passage about
the bush where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and
the God of Jacob.
38 Now he is God, not of the dead, but of the living; for to him everyone is
alive.'

V. Reflection

Starting with the prayer leader, students will share their learnings,
realizations, or life experiences related to the gospel of the day.

Example:
The gospel scripture above assures us that there is life after death.
According to Jesus, those who deserve it will be transformed into angels,
where they will no longer suffer mortal death but rather revive into the life of a
child of God. The joyous relationship we have with God in his paradise will be
the main emphasis of the new life in heaven. Moreover, Jesus wants us to
understand that what is most important is our relationship with God. If we
don’t, we could not be among those who remain on the last day. We may not
understand the concept of eternal life at this time. However, with the prospect
of a brand-new existence with God in eternity gives us hope in this difficult
and depressing time. Everything is under God’s power. He is in charge. In
actuality, he is the God of the living. In the end, good will triumph over evil. In
my own experience…

VI. Closing Song

Another worship song will be played wherein the students take in the lyrics.

Example: 10 000 Reasons (Bless The Lord) by Matt Redman, Oceans by

Hillsong UNITED, What a Beautiful Name by Hillsong Worship, Safe by
Victory, At the Cross by Hillsong Worship

VII. Closing Prayer

This is the personal prayer of the prayer leader to end the session. Follow the

Example:

Adoration: You, who are all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present. We praise

your wonderful creation.

Contrition: Lord, we are sorry for all the ways we let you down and don’t live
up to your expectations. Please forgive us for our actions this day – we
messed up and we’re sorry. We’ll try to do better next time.

Thanksgiving: Lord, we give thanks for how you’re in our lives, leading and
guiding us, loving us and showering us with your mercy and grace. Thank you
for so many blessings in our lives.

Supplication: Lord, we ask today for your guidance and healing – for us and
for those on our prayer list. We submit to your loving rule over our lives. Lead
us and guide us. May we only follow where you lead.

All this we pray through your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
