The test of the reading lights includes the test of

the Attendant work lights, the decoration lights
(option) and the related reading light power unit (each
power unit can drive three separate lights).
Before activation of the test, the pushbuttons POWER
ATTN and POWER READ on the FWD ATTND PNL have to be
pressed to energize the reading/work light system. If
not, a SWITCH ON POWER message will be displayed on
the PTP.
The test also detects any bulb failures by checking
changes in the current and signaling the failure before
the bulb actually burns out.

STATUS key then the CONT key until the MAINTENANCE
mode is reached.
For detailed failure description, the maintenance mode
can be entered directly by pressing the MAINTENANCE

Failures are stored in the Director’s BITE
ground/flight memory and can be read via this mode.
The LAST LEG REPORT contains failures of the last
flight leg.
The PREV LEGS REPORT contains failures of the 64
previous flight legs.
Flight legs without a failure produce no entries but
flight leg counting will be incremented.
Both reports include the date, the time and the ATA
chapter for each failure.
