Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity
a. Preliminary Activities 2 minutes Our Most Gracious and loving Heavenly Father, we are thankful for this wonderful
morning that you have added to our life. .. Amen
Opening Prayer
I am requesting everyone to please stand for the word of prayer. I
am requesting Mara to please lead the prayer.
Greetings
Good morning class! Good morning Sir

You may now take your seat.

Attendance
May I know who are absent today? None sir.

Okay. Good
A. Reviewing or presenting the new lesson 3 minutes .
Before we formally start our next lesson for today, I would
like to ask who can recall our last topic?

Yes Liza May?

Our last topic is about Properties Of Operations On The Set Of Integers Sir.

Very good. And may I know what are the 6 properties of

operations on the set of integers?
Yes Rasmiah? The 6 Properties Of Operations On The Set Of Integers are closure property,
commutative, associative, distributive, identity and inverse property.

Okay very good.

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson 5 minutes

Now let’s go to our new lesson.

Kindly get a 1 whole sheet of paper. Now cut it into half. Then cut
the two pieces into half again. Now, how many papers
A. Presenting examples of the new lesson 2 minutes

Do you know how to cook? Have you tried using a measuring

spoons? Or have you mother instructed you to put a ½ teaspoon of
salt?

How did you do it? Yes sir. My mother instructed to add a ½ tablespoon of salt in the soup. So I scoop a
salt using a spoon. I made sure that it’s half of the spoon.

B. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1. Students are listening.
5 minutes

½ and ¼ are examples of fractions. And fractions are rational

numbers. Rational numbers are numbers which can be
p
written as a fraction. . Where p and q are integers and q is
q
not equal to 0. May also be written as decimal.

C. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #2

10 minutes
And another concept that would be helpful in our lesson is
the GCF or the Greatest Common Factor. GCF is the greatest
number among all the common factors of two or more
numbers. For example, what is the GCF of 12 and 16. First
let’s list all the factors of 12 and 16.

12- 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12
16- 1, 2, 4, 8, 16

Now what is the greatest common between the two

numbers?
4 sir.

That’s right. Now to express fraction to its decimal form

follow this steps.
D. Developing Mastery
3 minutes 1 12
= multiply top and bottom by 12.
Now try this in your notebook. Express 1/8 to decimal form. 8 96
12 is nearly 100, so let us write down 12 with the decimal point 2 spaces from the
1
right. = .12
8

E. Finding practical applications of concepts and skills in daily

living. 5 minutes
Mar and Marie went to the market to buy a chicken meat.
They asked two vendors for the price of the chicken meat. Sir both vendors have good price. ½ is .50 when converted to decimal.
One vendor selling it for 120 for half a kilo. The other one
selling it for 120 for .50 kilos. Which vendor has a good
price? Why?
F. Making Generalizations and abstractions about the lesson
4 minutes

To express fraction to decimals, how many steps do we

have? 3 steps sir.
What are those steps? Step 1 is to find a number you can multiply by the bottom of the fraction to make it
10, 100, or 1000 , or any 1 followed by 0s
Step 2 Multiply both top and bottom by that number
Step 3 Then write down just the top number, putting the decimal point in
the correct spot (one space from the right hand side for every zero in
That’s right! the bottom number)
G. Evaluating learning Answer: 1/10 =.10
3 minutes
Express 1/10 to decimal form.

H. Additional Activities for application or remediation

8 minutes .
Answer
4/5 = .8

V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the
evaluation
B. No. of learners who require additional
activities for remediation
C. Did the remedial lessons work? No. of
learners who have caught up the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked
well? Why did these work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which
my principal and supervisor help me
solve?
G. What innovation or localized I
used/discover which I wish to share with
other teacher?
