Installation of Concrete Formwork and Shoring
Formwork and shoring support the weight of the wet concrete and
other construction loads. Form work is a temporary structure made of wood,
metal, or plastic, and it is constructed to form the final shape of a concrete
member.
The concrete formwork
contractor must hire an engineer
who is responsible for designing
and producing drawings showing
the formwork and shoring
supports for concrete beams,
slabs, walls, columns, and
foundations. The formwork must
be built precisely in accordance
with the structural drawings and
must allow for the proper
placement of reinforcing steel and
wet concrete without any major
deviations in shape and stability.
