IBSA Mentorship Agreement

IBSA Mentorship Program enables alumni and fellow students to form meaningful connections.
These connections help prepare mentees for a successful future and leave a lasting impact on our
campus community. Mentors can provide mentees with academic guidance, career advice and
personal development throughout the 8 week program. We encourage mentors and mentees to
connect on a regular basis (i.e. once a week phone call, in-person meeting, or Whatsapp
conversation). However, the frequency and form of communication are up to each pair.

What we expect throughout the program:

1. Respect boundaries. Be willing to share your experience and goals, so that your mentor
can understand you best.
2. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Mentors may not always know what you want, need, or
seek, so don’t shy away if you have concerns.
3. Follow-up. Keep in touch with your mentor and share any updates about previous
conversations. If your mentor provided you with helpful advice or resources, then you
may want to send them a quick Thank You message.
4. Stay engaged with your mentor. The number of times you meet with your mentor is up to
each pair, but we encourage you to connect at least once a week and maintain
communication with your mentor.
5. Be willing to share new knowledge with mentors. Learning is a two-way street in
mentoring relationships, and the relationship can be just as fruitful for the mentor.
