V. RATIONALE:

In accordance with the DepEd Memorandum No. 095 s. 2018

titled, “Sustaining the Implementation of the GULAYAN SA PAARALAN
PROGRAM in Elementary and Secondary Schools Nationwide”, Cawag
Elementary School will continue its support of the program by re-
establishing its Vegetable Garden. In addition, the GPP will primarily
contribute to the School Based Feeding Program by providing the
beneficiaries with vegetables harvested from the established gardens in
the school. On that account the GPP coordinator will launch the program
along with all the teaching and non-teaching personnel together with the
stakeholders supported by the unyielding guidance of the School Head.

The COVID-19 pandemic, as expected, increased other forms of

child malnutrition, including stunting, micronutrient deficiencies, and
overweight. The program aims to contribute its harvest amongst the
learners identified as malnourished. The harvested vegetables will be
given to the learners to aid for their sustenance.

The School’s location is ideal for this kind of program because it is

situated in an agricultural area where most of the stakeholders are
knowledgeable in Vegetable farming.

The participants of the activity are the teachers, learners of Cawag

Elementary School and the kind hearted stakeholders who will support
this cause.

VI. OBJECTIVES:

This propose activity will be guided with the following

objectives.
1. Re-establish a sustainable Vegetable Garden.
2. Contribute to the School Based Program by giving away harvested
vegetable to identified beneficiaries.
3. Employ an effective and efficient method in vegetable gardening.
