REFLECTION
Answer the following questions below in no less than two (2) sentences.
1. From what kind of family was Rizal born into?
Jose Rizal was born into an upper-class family and had many advantages in life, including the opportunity to attend prestigious colleges such as Ateneo De Manila University and the University of Sto. Tomas. His family was one of the largest in the country at the time. Because of his advantages in life, he has had the opportunity to go to different countries where he also studies. He utilized his family's resources to study overseas. 2. What are the most striking characteristics of the Mercado Family? Aside from Chinese, researchers discovered traces of Japanese, Spanish, Malay, and even Negrito blood in the Mercado-Rizal family. Jose Rizal's mother is Teodora Alonso. She has the most outstanding personality in the family, due of her intelligence, culture, and disposition She is also Rizal's personal instructor and tutor. She enjoys learning and is well-read literature and instills it in her son, guiding him in his studies of rhetoric. 3. What are the significant events in his childhood years? Why are these significant? Jose Rizal's schooling began at home, with his mother and aunt serving as his first teachers. His early education also began with his teacher, Justiniano Aquino Cruz. He learnt the alphabet from his mother at the age of three and was able to read and write by the age of five. It may be defined by his drive to learn, including regular visits to a church near his house to watch and observe people but without being spiritually oriented. Jose Rizal was neither physically gifted nor physically powerful. He did, however, have a strong will that was led and taught to him by his mother, his first instructor. It is significant as of today because it shows that when you have the courage to learn at the very young age, you will grow smart and well-aware of your surroundings. 4. Describe the Education Rizal’s received in his early childhood? Jose Rizal's schooling began at home, with his mother and aunt serving as his first teachers. His early education also began with his teacher, Justiniano Aquino Cruz. Rizal is just like any other child who told stories about his crushes. Except for the fact that he was a clever young man. It was normal schooling for a son of an ilustrado household during his period, including the four R's-reading, writing, arithmetic, and religion. The instruction was rigorous and rigid. 5. What was the impact of these “Childhood Memories” on Rizal as a National Hero? The impact of Rizal's early memories influenced him to be a patriotic at a young age. And, of course, his mother, Teodora Alonso, had the greatest influence on Rizal's growth as a person. She was the one who opened his eyes and heart to the world around him, with all of its soul and poetry, as well as all of its intolerance and injustice. He has lovely and abundant recollections. He grew up in a pleasant family, controlled by wonderful parents, full of joy, and blessed by God.
