7. Both gangways unlashed. Swung out and made ready for use.
8. All scupper plugs plugged. Save all plugs fixed in place.
9. Stenciling of ships name carried out on both helicopter landing areas.
10. Defect list item 34 attended. Rail of mechanical pilot hoist chipped.
Work in progress.
11. Chipping, buffing and cleaning carried out above COT/WBT 1C & 1P area
using hydro-blaster. First coat primer applied.

14. Cleaning and greasing of port side lifeboat harbor pins carried out.
15. Cleaning & painting of garbage collection area carried out.

17. Inventory of upper deck LSA FFA locker in china passage taken. In
progress.

6. Stores, provisions picked up.
7. Tools / gears of engine technicians shifted to E/R skylight.
8. Main mast chipping, cleaning & buffing carried out. In progress.
9. 1 whole set of ship’s plans & manual gathered from all places in
Conference room. List prepared, arranged & packed in 4 boxes for
landing. (To be scanned from shore).
10. Defect list item 34 attended. Chipping & buffing carried out of port side
mechanical hoist rail. First coat primer applied. In progress.

11. Defect list item 37 attended. IG drain line fixed back. Second coat
primer applied. In progress.
12. Defect list item 24 rectified. Slop port COT high level & overfill alarm
float removed & cleaned. Float fixed back & alarm tried out. Working
satisfactorily.
13. Defect list item 23 attended. 2P COT high level & overfill alarm float was
removed & cleaned. Float fixed back & alarm tried out. Overfill alarm
still giving error. Upon further inspection found that the ‘Reed switch’ of
2P COT overfill alarm was not working. Require replacement for the
same. Requisition will be raised.
14. Defect list item 25 rectified. 5P COT high level & overfill alarm knob was
found stuck. Same was cleared using WD-40. Alarm tried out. Working
satisfactorily.
15. Garbage drums arranged in Accommodation passage at Garbage storage
station. Garbage categories & discharge regulation poster posted on
bulkhead. Lashings will be done.
16. Officer & crew changing locker cleaned, arranged & mopped.
17. Chipping, buffing and cleaning carried out above COT/WBT 2C area.
First coat primer applied. (Chipping pics could not be taken).
18. Inventory of upper deck LSA FFA locker in accomodation canyon taken.
LSA/ FFA locker arranged.
19. Asisstance of fitter given to engine room for main engine job

NOTE: 2 Deck watch AB’s were shifted to day work for main mast
maintenance job in order to get maximum output in day light. 2 OS
were assigned anchor and deck watch duties in replacement of AB’s.

5. Ship’s manual landed to boat for scanning. 2 radar technicians
disembarked in same service boat.
6. Shifting of stores received carried out to their respective lockers.
7. Main mast chipping, cleaning & buffing carried out. First coat primer
applied. In progress.
8. Chipping, buffing & cleaning carried out on monkey island. First coat
primer applied. In progress.
9. Defect list item 37 rectified. IG drain line fixed back. Second coat primer
& top coat applied.
10. Mast riser vent wire mesh inspected. Top plate of mesh was removed,
found corroded. Will be chipped. Mesh frame was buffed, cleaned &
first coat primer applied. New wire mesh cut to appropriate size. Job in
progress.
11. Chipping & buffing carried out of stbd side mechanical hoist rail. In
progress.
12. Both pantry domestic waste drum painted and stenciled.
13. Second coat primer applied on COT/WBT 2P. In progress
14. Back splicing of ropes on 23 F-Keys carried out for fixing near Hydrants
and valves where missing.
15. Lifeboat missing equipment- Survival manual-1 PCS, Safety match box-1
PCS, Sponges-4 PCS, Jack knife-1 PCS, Seasickness bag-50 PCS & Water
proof torch 1 PCS received on 26-Oct-22. Same kept in Port side lifeboat.
Inventory updated accordingly. Defect list item 10 closed.

16. 4 SCBA new visors received on 26-Oct-22. Same were replaced with old
ones. Mask was tested & found no leaks/ vacuum. Defect list item 9
closed.
17. 4 new explosion proof torches received for fireman outfit on 26-Oct-22.
All 4 torches checked & working satisfactorily. Same were placed in
fireman outfit boxes. Defect list item 11 closed.

NOTE: 2 Deck watch AB’s were shifted to day work for main mast
maintenance job in order to get maximum output in day light. 2 OS
were assigned anchor and deck watch duties in replacement of AB’s.

28 OCT 2022
1. Tool box meeting carried out.

5. Main mast second coat primer applied. Chipping, buffing & cleaning of
remaining spots on main mast and first & second coat primer applied.
6. Stbd side lamp post chipping, buffing & cleaning carried out. First coat
primer applied.
7. Chipping, buffing & cleaning carried out on mushroom vents on monkey
island. First coat primer applied. In progress.
8. Bosun store stbd & center bilge eductor suction valves & bilge eductor
drive valve were removed (Suspected leakage). All 3 valves were
checked & tested, found satisfactory. New gaskets prepared & valves
fitted back.
9. Mast riser vent wire mesh cover plate chipping & buffing carried out.
First and second coat primer applied.

10. Mast riser Mesh frame second coat primer & top coat applied. New
mesh fixed to the frame. Job in progress.
11.Chipping & buffing carried out of stbd side mechanical hoist rail. First
coat primer applied.
12. 6 Foam monitor and foam hydrant valves inspected. Valves were
operated. Old grease removed & clean grease applied. Valves operating
satisfactorily. In progress.
NOTE: 2 Deck watch AB’s were shifted to day work for main mast
maintenance job in order to get maximum output in day light. 2 OS
were assigned anchor and deck watch duties in replacement of AB’s.

29 OCT 2022
1. Tool box meeting carried out.

4. General Accommodation cleaning carried out.
5. Saturday routine bilge alarm testing carried out.
6. Main mast & lamp post on Monkey Island chipping & painting job
halted for radar technician work on main mast.
7. Defect List item 41 attended. 2 Mushroom vents wheel on monkey
island found corroded and broken. Removed for repairs. Corroded
sections were replaced. Wheel was buffed & first coat primer applied. In
progress.
8. Bosun store bilge educting system & forward void space educting
system was tried out after maintenance of valves. Both bosun store
bilge & forward bilge eductors working satisfactorily. Both eductors
overboard having satisfactory flow.

9. Mast riser vent wire mesh cover plate top coat applied. Mesh frame &
plate fixed back.
10. Spot top coat applied above 1P & 1C COT/ WBT. In progress.
11. Chipping & buffing carried out of stbd side mechanical hoist rail on aft
rail part & motor. First coat primer applied.
12. Chipping & buffing carried out on ship’s funnel. First coat primer
applied.
13.Monthly ODME simulation test carried out. Overboard discharge &
discharge to slop valves operation checked in CCR and valve indicators
visually. All found satisfactory. Back Flushing & calibration was carried out
on completion of test. Printer working satisfactorily. Requisition raised for
printer ribbon cartridges.
14. Stenciling/ markings done on various locations.
15. Manual hydraulic pump of pumproom was tried out. Valve was
operated using the manual pump. Found working satisfactory.
16. Pump room cargo sea chest exxon test carried out at 3.5 Bars. System
integrity was tested for 15mins. Found satisfactory.
17.Lifebuoy with light securing frame on ship’s rail was chipped, buffed &
first coat primer applied.
NOTE:
1) All 3 Deck watch AB’s were shifted to day work for funnel
maintenance job in order to get maximum output in day light. 3 OS
were assigned anchor and deck watch duties in replacement of AB’s.
Work on main mast & lamp post were deferred due to attendance of
Radar Technicians.

issues being faced. Points disscussed included but not limited to :

b. Company circular OSP 08-22 (BHC importance)
c. Garbage management plan and importance of segeration
d. Personal health and hygiene
e. Public places cleanliness
f. Nearest extinguisher location
g. Nearest fire call point
h. Usage of fire extinguisher
i. Types of fire extinguishers on board
j. Use of elevator
k. Misuse of internet
l. Reporting for any defects or deficiencies.
