structure of the Organization.

I was attached under, Mathematics department which was headed by CEO Justus Weru, and

the roles of that department were well explained to me By Madam Lucy Njeri, where she

insisted that most of time I will spend working in the ICT department as a statistician.

Madam Lucy Njeri of Amaris solution managed to brief me on the system. She introduced

me into different types of products in the stock. She also introduced me in the social media

platforms like google business, linked in, Facebook, Instagram and telegram. In Amaris stock

the following week, Learners were introduced into various activities of Amaris solution, and

learners appreciated in various sections they were attached at.

Evaluation and validation of Amaris solution,

Scientific Research paper writing and Training in Amaris solution.

Learners were taken through Research paper writing, as different team of scientist were able

to do Their presentation on various parts of the paper, as an attached, I was able to gain much

on the following areas of the Study, this session was done through a zoom meeting where

KALRO KIBOS was the Host.

3.2 Popular Research methods.

 Case study-study of objects with unsual conditions.

 Survey-involves interviewing or administering questionnaires.

 Observational-Involves directly observing the subjects either in Natural settings or

laboratory.

 Correlational-it shows the relationship between two variables,

 Quasi-Experiment- testing independent factors against dependents,

 Cross culture-To reveal variations in a cross different group of people (focus group

discussion).

3.3 Ways of sampling.

 Prob-Sampling.it involves random selection of items from the population.

 Each unit has equal Chances of being selected in a survey.

 Non-probability Sampling. It involves non-random selection.

 Purposive Sampling- Selection of samples which is most useful for research

Objectives.

 Convinience Sampling-Choosing individuals who may be most accessible to the

research.

3.4 Mobile Data collection.

Is a method used to compiling qualitative and quantitative information with the help of a

Mobile app Device?

This method has been proven to increase the speed and accuracy.

Examples:

 JotForm’s Mobile (Android and iOS).

 ODK- Open Data Kit (function same as Kobo Toolbox).

 Survey CTO (Android and web).

 Commacare (Android and web)

 Teamscope (Android and iOS)

 RED cap (Android, iOS and web).

So many many things we're taught including how to work on findings / results and

discussion, concussion and recommendations in A scientific paper writing, and not forgetting

with reference , citations , Plagiarism and paraphrasing,.

This was done to help the young upcoming Scientist to be equipped with the newly

discovered modern technology in Paperwork as the field of research is concerned.

3.5 Data Collection.

We managed to collect data from various media platforms, like Facebook, Instagram, and

google business. Learnt how to collect data from various couriers and suppliers and also

administered questionnaires. My skills and knowledge improved gave me morale to continue

working with Amaris solution whenever a chance is given to me.

3.6 Data Entry and Analysis.
During my attachment at Amaris solution, one of my major activities I did at Amaris solution

was data entry. Mostly we use excel software to enter data which was collected from various

firms of different counties. The data we e entered was very large to an extent we had to do to

data freezing, sorting and even filtering as we were being directed hence I achieved much on

this since we used to do it most of the tines and even through team work and proper

consultation.

This data we had to import to SPSS and R which improved my skills in return. After the data

was entered in different soft wares, descriptive statistics, inferential statistics and frequency

statistics were also done, charts and bar graphs were also drawn.

3.7 Challenges encountered.

 Lack of exposure to data collection from the field.

 The minimal interaction with other staffs from other different departments and

minimal exposure on what other departments does.

 Lack of daily activities plan or schedule.

 Problem of securing place for attachment –getting a place was a problem since the

time frame was limited.

 Information technology- skills in information technology are mostly required in the

executive of activities since more systems today are computerized, due to shortage of

computers at the organization making it difficult for students to learn how to operate

the organization activities through the system.

 Transportation- Sometimes l could not raise fare therefore l had to walk and it was a

long distance
CHAPTER 4: ANALYSIS OF THE FIELD ATTACHMENT
PROGRAM.

4.1 SWOT ANALYSIS

4.1.1 STRENGTHS.
 It exposed the trainees to the real field situations.

 It enables trainees to gain new knowledge and skills.

 The trainees were able to practice and market usefully what they were taught in the

institution.

4.1.2 WEAKNESS.
 Attachment period was Too Short.

4.1.3 OPPORTUNITIES.
 Created awareness of Kisii University to the institution.

 Created interactions between the attached and the institution.

4.1.4 THREATS.
 Lack of facilitation of trainees by the University as they require money to meet other

requirements within the training

4.2 Summary of attachment activities

 As an attached, I have gained on how to use different methods to collect data in a survey

research Such as the newly discovered ODK-COLLECT App which uses mobile App.

 I have gained on how data can be analysed using Excel Microsoft such as regression,

correlation, bar graphics/ charts, descriptive statistics, using SPSS too in data analysis.
 How trials are being compared, i.e. the number of products in the stock and the number

products sold means that marketing the products in the social media platforms is the most

effective means to sell products. According to the number of views many people are able

to reach the products easily. Statistician must move in such fields where inorder to gather

enough ideas expecially when it comes to data analysis, you can only analysed variables

you under understand.

CHAPTER 5. CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS.

5.1 CONCLUSION
The attachment was successful and l was well exposed to the administrative duties and the

daily routine of an employee. I learnt to work with people and to get things done by people

through allocation of duties and team work. This assisted me in understanding the people we

were working with and the clients too and especially where one interacts directly with the

public.

The practical experience in the place of work broadened my thinking and practically

presented a to apply the skills in office to be in position to deliver

I also learnt to be confident, honest, professionally competent and understanding hence can

work as a team and can relate well with other people am serving and the staff too.

5.2 RECOMMENDATIONS
 The following recommendations were made following the findings of my attachment

 Amaris solution should come up with a strategy for monitoring and motivating

workers who performs their duties well.

 Amaris solution should embrace technology fully and entrench information

communication technology in their daily activities.

 The government should employ enough and competent personnel to avoid

overworking the available working staffs and this will make daily operations of

Amaris solution easier.

 Amaris solution needs to employ young employees who are under 40 years so that

they can mix with others and have a better work done and gain more knowledge from

young ones.
