Your Future

Our World

- Introduction
- Set up a story
 The growing process : timidity (being an insociable, shy girl who doesn’t
dare to communicate and voice her opinions)  courage (taking any
opportunity to deal with new challenges and developing relationships)
total confidence and independence (knowledge and experience expansion
through voluntary work and traveling abroad)
 Achievements and success :
. City English Speaking Presentation – 1st prize secondary + 2nd prize in high
school
. Gia Viet English Speaking Presentation – 1 week scholarship at
Singapore’s Summer Camp
. Debating Contests – Wollongong 2-week trip of study and exploration
. Eagles English Speaking Club For Youths – Vice president
. ASEAN YOUTH LEADERS ASSOCIATION – Program Development
Department
 What I’ve learned : The more I travel, the more people I encounter, the more
I realize that the knowledge accumulated throughout the years at school is
like a tiny grain of sand in a far-flung dessert that stretches over the very
horizon + I see different fates of life, distinctive types of development as
well as the dark sides of the growing societies + I see the strong will of
people, in any country, they’re all the same, all heading towards a better life
and success.
 My goals for the very presence and future ahead : Self development and
reflection  Travel as much as I can to see the world, learn from the very
mundane things of life, of the people and their cultures. the people and
actually make a difference .
- End with a strong stand
Hi! I am Huỳnh Nhật Trân Châu, an ambitious 16-year-old contestant coming from
Can Tho city, Vietnam. I am competing for “Your Youth, Our Future” on the topic:
“Why do we choose you?”
I recall myself back in secondary school being a very timid and insociable person, who
was full of hesitance to raise her hand to speak up, or to strike up a conversation with a
new friend in class. I almost gave up my dream which was to study media and
communication when I grow up. The world around me back then was loomed by the
colour of darkness.
Once in a while, I thought of change, I did, but I had no idea what’s best to do.
And there came one day when my mother told me to participate in an english
speaking competition. I was totally knocked down by my biggest fear at the
first try. That was also when I came to the realization that : “Change starts from
overcoming your worst nightmare.” .The following year I made the second
attempt, and like magic, I nailed it and won the highest prize which was a trip to
Singapore’s Leadership Summer Camp. From that moment on, my life
witnessed a radical transformation. So far, I have won the first prize in a
debating contest which granted me a scholarship for a 2 week experience at the
University of Wollongong, Australia. I have also participated as a volunteer in
Cantho ASEAN Youth Leader Associations. And right now, I’m a vice
president of Eagles English Speaking Club for Youths that helps shy people like
me to voice their opinions and feel the great joy from learning the english
language. My world at present is filled with a blaze of colours.
The experiences and courage that I have earned through travel and competitions have
enlarged my vision of the world. I have seen the lifestyles in both developed and
developing nations, the uniqueness of cultures and languages, the beauty of people and
so on. I can easily adapt to new environments and build new relationships. All of these
factors stimulate me to keep hoping and moving forward everyday to achieve my
dreams and goals. As a young generation, I want to make a difference to the
community by getting approach to different education systems and immerse myself in
the industry of the future. A trip to Bellerbys College is a splendid chance that I cannot
miss. I believe every contestant deserves a chance to be chosen, and I’m longing for
my name to be called.
