TRAVEL BROCHURE INSTRUCTIONS


SDB10102-COMMUNICATIVE ENGLISH 1 TRAVEL BROCHURE

TRAVEL BROCHURE (40%)

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. This is a group task. (4-5 students per group)

2. Each group will be assigned with a country by the instructor based on the list of countries
provided.
3. Students are required to search for at least five (5) reading materials related to the
country.
4. Students will extract information from the reading materials into the template provided
and create a brochure to promote tourists to travel to the country.
5. Students can choose to create a digital or manual brochure. Submission must be in form
of hardcopy.
6. Maximum number of words per brochure; 500.
7. Date of submission: WEEK 13- 07/11/2022-13/11/2022

Visit Algeria

1. Facts about the 1- Petrol is more cheaper than water


country:  Petrol is one of Algeria’s biggest
sectors in the economy. 
 For that reason, Algeria is the
5th cheapest country for petrol in the
world, at $0.35/litre in 2019.
2- Algeria has tallest minaret in the world
 Djamaa el Djazaïr is the great
mosque in Algeria.
 It is 870 feet tall and has observation
decks in it.
3- National animal is Fennec Fox
 World smallest fox
 Their most distinctive physical
feature is their ears, which can be a
whopping 4 to 6 inches long.

2. Custom/ 1- Algeria have several traditions that been celebrated

3-Algerians traditionally consider the family—headed by


the husband—to be the basic unit of society, and women are
expected to be obedient and provide support to their
husbands

traditionally minded Algerian Muslims consider it improper
for a woman to be seen by men to whom she is not related

steamed for approximately 10 minutes
3.  It is served with a stew of meat and various
vegetables like carrots, potatoes, and zucchini.
2 – Tajin Zitoun – Chicken and Olives Dish
1. Tajine Zitoune is a very popular dish in
Algeria, especially during Ramadan. 
2. This dish is made with Kefta (minced beef,
lamb, fish, or chicken meatballs seasoned with
spices and herbs), potatoes, mushrooms, and a
white sauce flavored with cinnamon and
thickened with olives.
3– Mhajeb – Flatbread with Tomato and Onion
Stuffing
1. they are consumed during the day.
2. Commonly, it is stuffed with onion and tomato.

4 – Qalb el Louz – Baked Semolina Almond


Dessert
1. Qalb el Louz is a Ramadan dessert that few
Algerians can resist.
2. Qalb el Louz is very soft and mushy on the
inside, yet every mouthful comes with an
explosion of sweet and nutty flavors.
3. It is made with three simple ingredients :
semolina, ground almonds and a syrup of sugar
