1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to define the piping data sheets applicable to the Marlim Azul
Combined Cycle Power Plant (hereinafter Marlim Azul), in order to develop the design of the
different systems and the piping layout of the plant.
The information contained in this document has to be supplemented with the corresponding
technical specifications for the purpose of purchasing piping materials and all the accessories
(fittings, flanges, etc.).

2. SCOPE
The data sheets included apply to the design of piping, valves, flanges, fittings, specialities
and terminal points for the equipment and package plants of the Marlim Azul.
This document includes the collection of Piping Data Sheets that can be applied in the
development of the different systems of the Marlim Azul, according to the particular
characteristics of each system.

4. PIPING DESIGNATION
4.1 GENERAL
The lines included in P&IDs and in the piping isometric drawings are identified according to
Piping Class. The designation of each Piping Class in the piping data sheets is established
according to the following code:

4.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
4.2.1 Corrosion Allowance Factors
The following corrosion allowance factors have been taken into account in the pipe wall
thickness calculation:
 Carbon Steel: 0.063” (1.6 mm)
 Galvanized Steel: 0.063” (1.6 mm)
 Alloy Steel: 0.063” (1.6 mm)
 Stainless Steel: 0” (0.0 mm)
4.2.2 Bolting Materials
Bolting materials have been selected to be used in flanges.
Bolts Grade B7 and B16 shall be hot dip galvanized or cadmium plating or equivalent
protection. Grade B8 and B8R shall not be plated or coated but must be passivated or
preoxidized.
Nuts Grade 2H and 7 shall be hot dip galvanized or cadmium plating or equivalent protection.
Grade 8 and 8R shall not be plated or coated but must be passivated or preoxidized.
