Jose Rizal's Education

Rizal was born from an Inquilino Family (June 19, 1861)

He received his informal education from his mother and his private tutors (1861-
1870)

He received his formal education in Binan, Laguna (1870)

Three Important Events happened in the Life of Rizal: 1. Execution of Gomburza,


2. Imprisonment of his mother, 3. He entered the Ateneo de Municipal for
Secondary education (1872)

He studied Bachelor in Arts in Ateneo (1872-1877)

Rizal Studied Philosophy and Letters in UST and after a year in 1878, he took
medicine. While he was studying, he also took land surveying in Ateneo de
Municipal

Rizal studied Licenciate in Philosophy and Letters and Opthalmology in


Universidad Central de Madrid (1882-1885)

Rizal had an OJT in Paris and thereafter in Heidelberg, Germany under the

He went back to the Philippines to practice his profession and will engage in Land
Despute in Hacienda de Calamba (August 1887-May 1888)
