The first of the two text refers to food as a group experience, about how enrichening it could
be when surrounded by family, feeling as part of the group. The same thing occurs when
talking about some countries, about how proud they are about their culinary traditions, mainly
to differentiate themselves from other nations, which may also help to create a sense of
national identity.

As from my point of view, food should be indeed shared with someone else, specially with
family or friends. Merely to be able to have a conversation meanwhile and to have this sense
of belonging to a certain place, not matter if it is the cafeteria of a company, as most good
conversations happen during lunch breaks.

On the second text, and of the completely side of the spectrum, the main subject is about how
society reflects on people when having (specially lunch), very fast and with barely no time to
enjoy, not only food, but company as well. Instead of having time to cook patiently and with
love, everything must be immediate and without taking care on its quality.

In my opinion, I am sad to say that most of the people nowadays could easily relate to this life
style, in which there is almost no time during breaks and immediateness is rewarded just to
get back to work, and the worst part of it is that many products nowadays are presented just
to be consumed in a “way too easy” form to say.

In short, eating should be respected as almost a ritual-esque practice where all loved ones (or
as many as possible) should be gathered and enjoy a delicious meal. Unfortunately, nowadays,
society demands further more that what can be enjoyed, and this sort of gatherings and more
and more weird to see.
