A long time ago there was a village full of life.

Inside this village there was a

family called the Marine family with six girls and one boy named River. River was
fifteen, the eldest of the children. River didn’t like being the only boy because
he always had to play with his sisters.

One morning, the sun peeked over the hills waking all. River was in bed and as the
sun tickled his toes, he realised, it was his youngest sister’s birthday. Her
birthday wasn’t until next month but they always started celebrating a month early.
Whilst celebrating they pretended they were princesses and everybody had to listen
to them. River despised this, they always made him participate in their tea
parties. Suddenly, a thought passed through Rivers mind… maybe he could run away,
just for a week or better, a month! He packed a bag of essentials and sneaked out
his window.

River was filled with adrenaline then it dawned on him, where was he going? River
walked to the nearest sun stop and caught the first sun ray. It didn’t matter where
it went as long as it was out of the village. The sun ray headed for the Colony of
Clouds. River had never been there, he had only ever heard about it.

He jumped off and was welcomed into the Colony of Clouds by King Cloud. He showed
River around and invited him to stay at his castle. After a couple of days River
was bored. All they did was float around chilling in the atmosphere, but everyone
was warm, kind and soft so it was a pleasant stay.

Finally River decided it was home time. He’d had enough of living in the clouds.
River knew there was still some left of his youngest sister’s birthday celebrations
but it was better than a whole month. River told the king he was going home, the
king thought otherwise. He had to get out of there as fast as he could.

He ran to the bridge. The king ordered the palace guards to capture him. River was
cornered! He peered over the edge and saw a stream. He held his breath and leaped
off the edge! The palace guards followed River.

River fell into the steam and was separated from the guards while flowing with the
stream. The villagers helped River on his way.

Days passed, River could finally catch a glimpse of home! It was so long since he’d
seen his family! He thanked the villagers and continued home. He went inside and
found it empty. River pondered about where they were. Minutes later everyone
emerged from the stream. River was astonished!

The Marine family embraced River tightly. They’d been looking for him everywhere!
River was relieved he was home and he had a great idea, to leave every second month
because that was when his sister’s birthdays were and that’s how the water cycle
began!
