“Own Happiness”

Wise decision by the elder brother,

decided not to go to the river.
For him it was already over.
At the end, he neither became richer nor poorer.

The other brother decided to go the river,

because he believes that happiness will be closer.
The younger brother who is much bolder,
made him a wanderer and sooner a ruler.

Elder brother’s decision was full of gladness.

Younger brother, on his decision, did not feel any madness.
When they saw one another, from that moment they feel blessed
and what important is they found their own happiness.

Personally, I believe that the best literary criticism that will analyze the literary piece “The Two
Brothers” by Leo Tolstoy is the Biographical criticism. Biographical criticism because
comparing the literary piece and the biography of Leo Tolstoy, there might be a connection in his
life since he also has siblings. We really don’t know if the exact story of “two brothers” really
happened in Leo Tolstoy’s life, but there is a high chance because he has siblings. Leo Tolstoy
just might reflect a part on their life regarding on how one of them sought their own happiness in
their life.
