Therefore, in a living thing, nucleic acids hold the information that is communicated to proteins, which

are responsible for a variety of tasks, including rebuilding these nucleic acids.

1. DNA and protein are two molecules in the body that’s essential for life. Even though these two
are both separated molecules, they are also closely related. DNA being made up of nucleotides
which is bonded by phosphodiester bond, contains the information needed for encoding
proteins (Eni, S.p.A, 2011). In return, proteins being made up of amino acids bonded by peptide
bonds, performs various functions, including the rebuilding of these nucleic acids. In addition,
most DNA molecule can be found in the cell nucleus wherein DNA replication takes place,
meanwhile, proteins are located throughout the cell and is synthesized on the ribosomes in the
cytoplasm.
2. DNA is said to be double helix in structure for it look like a twisted ladder or an entwined vine.
Hydrogen bonds and interactions between bases that are hydrophobic help to maintain the
helix's structure. Each vine-like molecule is a DNA strand, which is chemically linked chain of
nucleotides composed of one of four different aromatic "bases," a sugar, and a phosphate.
These nucleotide components make up DNA strands, which are polymers (Bates, 2020).
Deoxyribose and phosphate groups alternately form the backbone of each strand. Each
strand has a 5′end (with a phosphate group) and a 3′end (with a
hydroxyl group). One of the four bases—adenine (A), cytosine (C), guanine (G), or thymine
—is joined to each sugar (T).

Cell division wouldn’t made possible without the replication of DNA. And, if there’s no cell division, no
new cells are formed, leading the organism to death. As we know, that when the cell divides DNA
material is copied allowing the process of cell division (mitosis and meiosis) to repeat, since they provide
the instruction for this process. Furthermore, this process is crucial for growth or repair of damaged
tissues in the body and is essential for genetic continuity. DNA carries all the instructions needed to
synthesize the proteins and enzymes a cell needs to survive. It is important that when a cell divides, the
two new daughter cells produced have the same number of chromosomes and genetic information as
the parent cell because if not, serious complications may occur.
