1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Qasehku is a Bumiputera clothing brand that caters to Muslim women registered under
the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) and wholly owned by a Malaysian
entrepreneur, Taiyibah Abdullah. Since 2021, Qasehku has raised its market position and
compete with other companies in the clothing industry by providing latest and fashionable
clothing designs for customers. Qasehku private equity firm is located in Chemor, Perak, and
they sell a limited range of clothing from plain kaftan (Iqra’ Kaftan), stripes kaftan (Kaftan Maira),
two-piece attire (Orked Suit), abaya (Abaya Jameela), exclusive kaftan (Kaftan Zehra), and baju
kurung (Kurung Ajwa).

The vision of Qasehku is to be a competitor in the clothing business that is able to


provide the best customer service in maximizing customer satisfaction, to have physical
business branches throughout Malaysia, and to popularise the clothing styles that they sell to
women of all ages. Furthermore, Qasehku’s mission is to provide comfortable and high-
quality Muslimah clothing that meets the needs of customers and ensures customer satisfaction
at an affordable price. Qasehku has expanded and now has over 20 agents throughout
Malaysia and sold over 100,000 pieces of clothing because of the business owner's foresight
and hard work.

In this day and age of fast-paced globalisation, many people have been venturing into
the business world in order to supplement their income whether they are still in school or have
already secured a job. I was interested in becoming Qasehku’s agent in terms of enhancing my
income and save money for future obligations. I have been a drop shipper for this company for
almost two months and it has helped me earn an income through commissions. Moreover,
joining Qasehku’s business has improve my time management skills, problem solving skills, and
interpersonal communication skills. To summarise, running a business does not only provide
supplemental income but also prepares one to be more self-sufficient.

The name of the company I have chosen to work with is Qasehku. The company
specialises in various women clothing that is modest and suitable for everyday wear. One of
the main reasons I opted to work as a drop shipper for Qasehku is because it is owned by
my aunt, and I want to assist her in selling her products while also making money for myself.
Working in this industry, I assume, will provide me with an excellent opportunity to learn
more about adult life. I would like to learn how to be self-sufficient and to appreciate the
effort required to earn money. Many of my friends has started working around this age and I
do not want to feel left out. Furthermore, I believe working in business will also make me
realise how hard it is to earn money as I am paid on commission, thus the amount of money
I earn monthly is not consistent, making me appreciate money more, and perhaps involving
in entrepreneurship that requires hard work will help me break my ridiculous spending habit.

The primary audience for Qasehku is instantly recognizable: Muslim women.


According to my observations after two months of working, the majority of my customers are
from the working class who desire a fashionable yet comfortable and iron-free clothing.
Customers have fallen in love with Qasehku’s ability to give exactly what they desire in their
garments at an affordable price. Qasehku’s high quality clothing is achieved by an amazing
fabric supplier, GR FETTY ENTERPRISE. The business is owned by. Mrs. Taiyibah
Abdullah. Mrs. Taiyibah studied astronomy at University Malaya in Kuala Lumpur before
deciding to open several businesses, one of which being a clothing store, Qasehku. Mrs.

Taiyibah was adamant about launching various businesses in order to support her family
and what started off as a job, eventually turned into a passion to her.

The working schedule for Qasehku’s drop shippers is conveniently flexible since I
can choose whether to work during the morning session (9 a.m. until 4 p.m.) or the night
session (5 p.m. until 10 p.m.). Due to my schedule, I chose the night session because I have
morning classes, and I do not want to disrupt my education. Working as a drop shipper
Qasehku is simple for me, a student, because I do not have to search for customers or
manage Qasehku’s stock. However, I manage to gain customers by advertisements on
social platforms promoted by the marketer who then will direct clients to my phone number.
My job consists merely taking clients' orders via WhatsApp and forwarding the orders to the
team in charge of product packaging. I manage this business wherever I want as long as
there is internet availability.

5. EXPERIENTAL LEARNING

I was initially hesitant in pursuing entrepreneurialism, but as soon as I discovered that there
is a simple method to manage a business without disrupting my daily routine, I learned that
entrepreneurship is enjoyable and a great experience. I am more determined than ever before
to get outside of my comfort zone and try new things after working in the business industry.
Furthermore, running a business has impacted my life in numerous ways. I have grown more
self-reliant, improved my money management skills, and enhanced my self-confidence,
communication as well as social skills.

 Since I began working in business, I have become more self-reliant and felt a greater sense
of responsibility than before, where before, I was a little reliant on my parents. I now know how
to handle undesired situations by myself without asking for their help. For example, I have had a
bad experience with a disgruntled client who complained about the product delivery being late
despite it not being my fault. The customer then demanded that I provide the currier's phone
number, even though I did not have it. I was stumped as to how to assist the customer, but
luckily, I was able to contact the courier service, who assisted me in informing her of the
situation. Following the experience, I learnt that when working in my business, there are many
different sorts of people in the world, and I must be mentally prepared to take responsibility in
satisfying customer’s needs.

Next, participating in business has taught me to value my earnings and to handle my


finances effectively. I used to squander all the money I was given but I do believe when
someone has to obtain a certain item by themselves, they would appreciate it better and that is
the situation I am in after involving myself in entrepreneurialism. I have a greater appreciation
for my wages and have even learnt how to distribute them so that I will always have extra
money. In fact, it makes me feel more secure in my daily life because the money I have set up
for emergencies, will make me be more prepared if something unexpected occurs. Savings
gives you a safety net in case of unexpected emergencies. Thus, this healthy habit would not
be achieved if I had not stepped outside of my comfort zone to try my attempt in
entrepreneurship.

Moreover, entrepreneurship has helped me improve my self-confidence, interpersonal skills,


and social competence by interactions with consumers on a constant schedule. Whether the
interaction is pleasant or adverse, I believe that any form of engagement will make me a
stronger person. I also learnt that good communication skills are essential for improving client
satisfaction and, as a result, achieving entrepreneurial success. Good communication skills are
required if a consumer has any enquiries regarding a product, and it is my responsibility to make
sure she understands about the product such as the sizing or shipping, so she would feel more

confident to purchase the product. Not to mention, it does makes me happy when a customer
compliment my service and the product I am selling. Hence, I never imagined that
entrepreneurship could help me become a better communicator, but I am grateful it did.

In conclusion, the new experiences I have gained through entrepreneurship have proven
to be more beneficial than I anticipated. It does not only provide me with a source of income, but
it also helps develop character. I have always viewed entrepreneurship as a profession that
demands a lot of hustles, and I admire those who have chosen to work in this field because I
have to admit this career is absolutely tiring. I have been a drop shipper for only a month, but I
have already encountered a lot of challenges. Nevertheless, I am extremely grateful for the
opportunity given as it has helped me in so many ways possible.
