INTRODUCTION

This individual work is all about self-reflection, reflecting on how far your grasp of Management
Principles and Practice has progressed. Managing, decision making, planning, organizing,
motivating, leadership, control, communication, and human resource management are the 11
chapters in this topic.

The primary goal of writing this self-reflection essay is to communicate my personal experiences
and insights about the topics studied. For example, what I've learned, the talents we've obtained,
and how we'll employ them in future endeavors.

The Higher Education Ministry of Malaysia has declared an online class for all levels of education
at this period of pandemic Covid-19. This is owing to the rising case of Covid-19 in Malaysia. It is
difficult for students and lecturers to have an online class in the beginning since we have never
done it before, but as time goes on, we tend to catch up with all of this. There are instances when
we are distracted by factors such as the quality of internet streaming, the environment, and the
interaction between students and lecturers via video. As a result, we must remain concentrated
during the lesson to obtain as much knowledge as possible.

WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED?

This topic has taught me how to manage the planning, organizing, leading, and regulating of an
organization to fulfill its objectives, vision, and purpose. Aside from that, I learned ethical behavior
in the business. All employees must abide by the rules and regulations established by the
company. Furthermore, in the human resource management chapter, I learned about
organizational procedures in staffing activities such as choosing, placing, training, developing,
rewarding, and assessing.

Following that, I learned about efficiency and efficacy. Efficiency is about what I need to improve
to accomplish things correctly and effectively, whereas effectiveness is about doing the right
things that correspond with an organization's aims and goals.

Then I studied efficiency and effectiveness. Efficiency is concerned with what I need to improve
to accomplish things correctly and effectively, whereas effectiveness is concerned with doing the
proper things in accordance with an organization's aims and goals.

WHAT ARE THE TAKE AWAY?

This topic taught me a great deal. Communication is a critical component of an organization's


success. Effective communication ensures that all employees, from top management to entry-
level employees, are aware of the company's aims and culture. Aside from that, team building
has been a key intervention for organizational growth in order to improve social ties. Aside from
that, I must be aware of the two assumption theories in this topic, Theory X and Theory Y. Theory
X is a negative assumption about workers that causes management to constantly monitor them.
Theory Y, on the other hand, is a positive assumption that encourages a manager to give chances
to employees.

WHAT ARE THE SKILLS ACQUIRED FROM THIS SUBJECT?

In addition, there are a few abilities that I may gain from the topic Principles and Practice
Management. To begin, I've learned that communication is essential in all we do. Especially in
the workplace, between employees and bosses. It is beneficial for me as a student since I need
to speak with my group members. Aside from that, the abilities learned to include how to structure
and administer the organization. It aids in the development of my management abilities,
particularly those of leadership and teamwork. Furthermore, I can train my mind to be more
creative in problem-solving and critical thinking. It comes in handy, especially when I need to
address a problem quickly.

Finally, I have learned that decision-making is essential in all we do. Moreover, I will apply what I
have learned in this topic in my everyday life and in the future since it truly benefits me and is
beneficial not only to myself but also to others. Furthermore, most companies are seeking those
abilities these days. It is because managerial abilities are extremely vital, and not everyone
possesses them. Aside from that, the corporation may provide a position as a leader in the
organization. As a result, I must behave as a leader and problem solver. To be ready for this
circumstance in the future, I need to start training right now and polish my abilities so that there
would be no issues.

WILL YOU BE USING THIS SKILL IN THE FUTURE?

Yes. I plan to employ these talents in the future because they will help me be more productive,
confident, and efficient at work and in my personal life. Communication, in my opinion, is critical

for a variety of reasons. For example, communication has evolved beyond face-to-face
engagement in the digital era. We are utilizing technology to communicate more than ever before.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS THAT YOU ACQUIRED FROM THIS SUBJECT?

The advantages I gained from this course are crucial managerial skills that will enable me to be
a great addition to a business. I will acquire a skill set to adapt to organizational issues and current
development. Furthermore, I can use this subject on any scale because it covers management
from the entry-level to the highest management level. Next, if I choose to be an entrepreneur in
the future, I can use what I've learned in this topic to start my own firm.

HOW DO YOU FIND WORKING IN A TEAM? HOW WAS THE INFORMATION GATHERED?

I believe that I enjoy assisting in the resolution of group difficulties via research and
communication. If they are not involved in the group, I will personally approach them by message
to know whether they are okay or not. So, if we did something sincerely and share knowledge
and idea together it will come out with a successful result. Other than that, I will share my idea
with them and will discuss whether my idea makes them interested or not. So, from that, we can
decide further about the group project or assignment.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT THE PROJECT?

What I enjoy most about this topic is efficient communication. Communication is a complicated
process, and even when it appears to be easy and straightforward, individuals prefer to define it
differently. We communicate in an organization to inspire people to work toward organizational
goals, to provide information on tasks that must be completed, and to meet social demands
related to emotional and non-task-oriented exchanges such as the weather, politics, and the
employee's personality.

ANY SUGGESTION FOR IMPROVEMENT FOR THE PROJECT?

Finally, I would like to recommend that the lecturer design a different exercise for each session
so that the students may have a better understanding of the subject. For example, conduct some

group work for extra credit, quizzes for each chapter, and entertaining activities utilizing a platform
like Quizziz since this will make the students more engaged and easier to remember what they
have learned. Sir Mohd Sukor, thankfully, has led and supported the kids much, and she makes
it easy by providing more information for each issue.
