Aside from the evidences discussed, research at least one present-day phenomenon
that would support Wegener’s claims in his continental drift of theory. You may
include pictures/diagrams relevant to your answer. Don’t forget to properly cite your
sources.
Radioactive heat generated in the Earth's interior might cause the Earth's interior to heat up
unless there was some mechanism to remove the heat. That hot mantle, behaving as a very
viscous fluid, would rise by convection toward the surface where it would cool and contract
(become denser) and then descend back deep into the Earth. There it would heat up and
expand (become less dense) and then rise again.

2. Differentiate folding and faulting in terms of:

 Direction of their movement;
 Type/s of geologic stress acting on them;
 Landscape generated after their occurrence.

FOLDING FAULTING
•Folding refers to the the horizontal •Faulting talks about the vertical movement of
movement of the Earth’s crust the Earth’s crust involves uplift or subsidence
of crust along the lines of weakness
•Folds are bends in the rocks that are due to •Faults are due to tensional forces along
compressional forces which displacements of rocks take pace
•Faults occur when forces operating in
opposite directions leads to tension and as a
result rocks develop cracks on the fissure
•Fold mountains like Himalayas, Andes, and •The cracks or fractures formed is called fault
Alps form during the process of folding lines. This event can form mountains and
valleys like the Narmada, Tapi
