SOLAR WATER HEATERS – THERMOSYPHON SYSTEM

A. System Description.

1. The Solar hot water system should be of the Thermosiphon type. The entire system should
be factory pre-assembled comprising an aluminum high power collector with a 300 litre
integrated storage tank and built in Electric back up heating element.
The solar hot water system should employ the Thermosiphon principle and shall be tested
and approved considering over heat protection according to EN 12976-2. The internal closed
solar circuit of the system shall use special solar liquid glycol as the heat transfer medium.
The quantities of the solar water heating systems shall be in line with what is shown and
scheduled in the drawings. The system shall be complete in all ways and shall include all
mechanical and electrical accessories necessary for a fully functional solar hot water system.
It is the responsibility of the specialist supplier to verify and ensure that the locations of the
solar panels and its arrangements is in such a way to provide most efficient operation.

B. Solar Collector.

1. Solar collector should be designed for regions with maritime and desert-like conditions.
2. Collector to be equipped with a corrosion resistant absorber , a highly selective coating to
combat sea air and an optimized ventilation concept to keep out blowing sand.
3. Collector should be designed to withstand 150 Km / hr winds .
4. Collector to provided with a prober fixing system from the same manufacturing company.
5. Collector size to be with 2.00 Sq Meter overall area , and the Absorber area of the collector
should be 1.90 Sq Meter.
6. Housing ( frame ,back plate & Surface ) of the collector should be Aluminum.
7. Absorber to be laser Welded High selective vacuum coating.
8. Collector Absorption = 90%, Emission = 15%
9. Glass of the collector to be 3.2 mm tempered solar safety glass.
10. Insulation to be 30 MM mineral wool plate.
11. Maximum stagnation temperature of the collector 234 C Deg.
12. Maximum operating pressure is 10 bar.
13. Approved installation angle Minimum 15 Deg, Maximum 75 Deg.

C. Hot water storagetank.


1. Pre-assembled compact system for simple and quick installation (Turn-key System).
2. Built in insulated double -walled tank
3. Made of glass-lined steel sheet of 2.5 mm thick and incorporate a thermal exchange system
of double glazed steel enclosure with high heat transfer expansion chamber.
4. Tank to equipped with Magnesium Anode and 2.5kw Electric Back up heating element.
