1. Based on Graph A and Graph B, what relationship can be deduced between the Load weight (F)
and the extension (Dy) of the spring?
The extension (Dy) of the spring is directly proportional to the Load weight (F), which means that
the larger the force applied, the longer the spring will extend. And, the smaller the force applied,
the smaller the spring will extend.

4. Compare:
a) the value of the spring constant k1 from the slope of Graph A to the values of the spring
constant k in Table A.
According to calculations, the given helical spring's spring constant is 30.00 N/m. From the graph,
the given helical spring's spring constant is also 30 N/m. This indicates the spring constant are all the
same.
b) the value of the spring constant k3 from the slope of Graph B to the values of the spring
constant k in Table B.
The given helical spring's spring constant is calculated to be 39.73 N/m. Based on the graph, the
given helical spring's spring constant is also 39. 73 N/m. This means that the spring constant are the
same on both calculations and graph.
Spring 1 is more elastic than spring 3 because it was able to stretch longer than spring 3 since spring
1 is not too stiff which led the gravitational force acting on the spring to cause the spring to move
downwards as we add more load weight to the spring.
