Director Business Development

Eswatini Railways (ESR) invites qualified and skilled candidates to apply for the position of Director Business
Development. This is an Executive management role requiring candidates who possess strategic agility, well-
rounded managerial experience, vision, drive and high levels of integrity.

The main purpose of the role is to identify profitable business opportunities, grow and enhance ESR’s presence in
logistics, whilst building sustainable relationships with customers, partners and relevant stakeholders. Additionally,
to lead the implementation of identified ESR business development & diversification projects, and
commercialization of fixed assets, plant and equipment (real estate, rail servitude etc).

Main Functions
o Develop ESR strategies for stakeholder relations
o Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow ESR business
o Direct marketing efforts (market research and strategies), research emerging trends and recommend new
offerings to satisfy customer needs
o Prepare Investment packages and contract management
o Assess business risks and opportunities
o Analyse financial statistical and economic data
o Project planning, management, and appraisals
o Assess marketing and sales, as well as supplier and vendor operations
o Performance management and team development
o Carry out due diligence on business prospects
o Develop costing and pricing model for commercial activities
o Real Estate management

Qualifications and Experience


o Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Leadership, Finance, Sales,
Economics or any other related field.
o Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or any other related field.
o Professional Qualification in relevant field will be an added advantage
o Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior management position is required
o Experience in client relationship management
o Proven experience in business development, project management
o Proven expertise on organisational transformation and executing on strategic projects
