At the end of the discussion, the students are expected to:
a. Identify the parts and function of the Respiratory System;
b. Create a diagram to show the path of air in the Respiratory System;
c. Appreciate the importance of the Respiratory System in the Human Body.

Review: Can someone tell me what is Respiratory system?
Motivation: Class, before we start our discussion, we will
have first an activity. I will show you some pictures, then tell
what part of the respiratory system this is.

“Know ME!”
 The class will be divided into 4 groups.
 Each group will pick a hashtag via draw lots.
 After picking they will receive an envelope which contains information
about the hashtag they picked.
 They are given 7 minutes for the brainstorming and another 2 minutes for
the presentation.
 In presenting their topic, the students may choose the following styles:
 Talk Show
 News Casting
 Illustration
 Panel Discussion
 Role Play
 Campaign
 They will be graded based on the rubrics below.

b. ASSIGNMENT
Instruction:
In an A4 size bond paper draw and label the following:
 Olfactory Epithelium
 Larynx
 Trachea
 Bronchus
 Bronchiole
 Lungs

After, answer the following questions:


1. Where does gas exchange occur?
2. What is one complete respiratory cycle? Define breathing rate and
breathing depth.
3. What happens to the breathing rate and depth during exercise? What
are the changes in blood chemistry that lead to the observe changes
during exercises?
