B. Engage Singing Elements and Compounds Group singing
What is the song all about?
What are the elements given in the song and the also the
compounds?
C. Explore Activity 2: Let’s Hunt Elements and Compounds! Periodic table of elements
Get sample of a food labels from the food that you eat. Paste Science book
your food label on your activity notebook.
Which among the labels are elements? Food labels
Can you identify the substances in the food label above?
Which among the substances are compounds?
What are your bases of classifying them?
D. Explain Explain concept on the classification of elements and Oral participation
compounds.
Elements and compounds are all substances. They can be chart
classified based on their number of atoms. Since element is
the simplest form of matter it has one atom only and cannot
be broken down anymore. Compounds are combinations of
two or more elements; thus, it composes of two or more atoms
then it can be broken into its components, the elements.
E. Elaborate What is the importance of knowing/understanding the food Oral participation
labels as well as knowing the elements and compounds
included in your food intake?
F. Evaluate 15 item tests will serve as assessment for today.
