A Comparative Analysis of Caloocan City Tourism

and International Tourism: Why is International

Tourism More Popular than Local Tourism?
Due to the effects of more globalization as well as the fact that more people have money
in their pockets, there has been an increase in international tourism. The influence of
international tourism is greatest on developing countries, where it is a vital industry and a
significant source of cash. A country's infrastructure is developed, its revenue is increased, and a
sense of cultural interaction between locals and visitors is sown thanks to tourism. The number
of jobs generated by tourism in numerous locations is substantial. The primary distinction
between domestic and foreign tourism is the nature of the travelers. Domestic tourism is travel
by citizens of one nation within that nation, whereas international tourism is travel by tourists to
other nations. Starting in the late 19th century, shipping lines also promoted international travel.
Before World War I, pleasure cruises were already a distinctive travel experience from the
Norwegian fjords to the Caribbean, and in the 1920s and 1930s, transatlantic companies battled
for middle-class travelers. Travel and tourism now make up a significant portion of the global
economy, accounting for 7% of all exports and more than one billion tourists who visit foreign
countries annually [59].

As a result, it is clear that tourism has a positive impact on both domestic and global
revenue production, mass mobility, social interaction, and development chances. It is not
unexpected that tourism has long been regarded as an efficient means of encouraging and
supporting development, especially within less developed nations, given its remarkable
expansion in terms of mobility and the movement of people as well as an economic sector.
