The

Pollution and waste of water.

"Drop by drop the water runs out”.That common saying may contain some truth,
but the absence of water is not the only global problem affecting life on earth. For
many people, the misuse of water is a problem. Despite what careless and
disinterested people may believe, contaminants in water can be deadly, as they
are chemical agents that affect physical and molecular components. For example,
the purity, the pH, the density, the molecular weight, the viscosity and as a
consequence can damage the water, in addition to the health of those who
consume that type of water.
The consequences of wasting water are huge and affect not only human beings
but also plants and animals, most people are not fully aware of how they waste it
and how it is part of climate change and the greenhouse effect.
Human beings are the main cause of water pollution, which can be affected in
many ways: with the dumping of industrial waste; or due to deforestation, which
causes the appearance of sediments and bacteria under the ground and the
consequent contamination of groundwater. In the same way, the pesticides used
in agricultural fields are filtered through underground channels and reach the
consumption networks; and also with the accidental spill of oil.
The effects caused by polluted water range from the disappearance of
biodiversity and aquatic ecosystems. Human beings are also greatly affected by
the disruption in the food chain and contract diseases by drinking or using
contaminated water. For all these reasons, we must guarantee the availability of
water, its sustainable management and sanitation for all. That is, encourage the
use of natural nutrients and pesticides; The best wastewater treatment, in addition
to ending deforestation.

It is necessary to aim for a more sustainable and responsible agriculture and
industries;
Including the implementation of sustainable transport as well as the reduction of
the use of oils and batteries; adding to this the reduction in the consumption of
plastics. In addition, contaminated water can favor the appearance and
transmission of infectious diseases such as cholera, diarrhoea, polio and dysentery
or gastroenteritis. Microbiologically contaminated drinking water can transmit all
of these diseases. Because of this, it is essential that we take action urgently, not
only to prevent this process of water pollution from continuing, but also to make it
possible to reverse the damage already caused and rebuild ecosystems damaged
by human action. It is necessary that these initiatives come from the competent
authorities, since many citizens are not aware of the danger posed by polluting
products for both aquifers and sea water.
In conclusion, water is the basic resource to guarantee the life of all living beings
on the planet. However, its scarcity and contamination mean that millions of
people have little access to this much-needed commodity. Although there are
techniques such as purification or desalination that facilitate the treatment, use
and consumption of water in areas with quality or supply problems, in the first
place it is necessary to avoid contamination and waste.
