UNIT 8: NEW WAYS TO LEARN
Lesson IV: Speaking – Online learning

I. OBJECTIVES
By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
- Get an overview of the topic “New ways to learn”.
- Use vocabulary related to online learning and face-to-face learning.
- Practice speaking in debating about online learning and presenting about face-to-face learning.
2. Core competence:
- Develop speaking skills, and other language skills.
- Be collaborative and supportive in pair work and teamwork.
- Be active in class activities.
3. Personal qualities:
- Raise awareness of advantages and disadvantages of online learning and face-to-face learning.
- Boost the advantages of those learning ways to learn more effectively.

- T explains the rule for the whole class:
• T divides the class into 2 teams.
• There are 12 cards in total: 6 cards contain words that they
have learnt in the previous lesson and 6 cards contain
pictures that illustrate the words. Two teams take turns to
flip two cards.
• If the words and the picture match each other, they receive
1 point.
• Otherwise, they turn the card face down again.
• Each team takes turn to flip cards. The team which has more
points will be the winner.
- Ss do as instructed.
