Instructional Focus/Project Title: Warli Art – Indian Folk Art Art Element/Principle: Pattern & movement.
Materials:
A piece of paper, crayon, pencil colors/water color paint.

( * ) Creation & Communication Learn how the Warli tribe used abstract art to tell stories from
( * ) Cultural & Historical Connections daily life.
( * ) Aesthetic & Critical Analysis Learn how to use pattern and repetition and help them
( * ) Applications to Life successfully used those techniques in their work.
Create a work of art using skills such as blending, gradient.
Learn how to create different movement with the characters.
Vocabulary: Assessment: students will discuss the final project in quick
colours, blending, shapes, lines, movement, patterns, Warli. critique. They will discuss what kind of Art they create. As well
as sharing some of the lines, shapes, colours and patterns they
used.
Activity/Procedures:
Step 1 blending colours
1.The students will colour the paper with blending and gradient yellow with red on the
back ground.

Step 2 Drawing and patterning.

1. The students will draw the characters of the Warli Art.

2. The students will add different pattern on the Warli character.
3. The students will colour the shapes with using repetition of colours.
