Mechanical Assemblies and Detail Drawing for Manufacture – 6 hours

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Do not open this question paper until you are told to do so.
2. Write your Station Number clearly at the top right-hand corner on the front
page of this question paper.
3. Return this question paper at the end of the test.
Task : Mechanical Assemblies and Detail Drawing for Manufacture.
Time Allocation : 6 hours

I. Given
1. 2D Detail parts drawings,
2. 3D solid model of some components in SPT format.

II. Tasks and Output

1. Part Modeling
Create 3D shaded isometric view of the Part no.1 on A3 size paper showing:
 An isometric view showing top, front and right side
 An isometric view showing bottom, back and left side

2. 2D Assembly Drawing
 Produce a 2D-Assembly drawing with a part list on A3 size paper
showing:
a. Front view
b. Top view
c. Fully sectioned Left Side view
 Indicate angle between fully open to close position of the “Handle” in
the drawing.
 Indicate in the drawing, the three major dimensions of the assembled
system.
 Show all part numbers (balloons) and part list provided with the
question

3. 2D Detail Drawing
Create 2D detail drawings of the Part no. 5 and 6 on A3 size paper with scale
2:1 including all the general dimension, surface roughness and geometry
tolerance.

4. 3D Rendered Exploded
 Produce a fully shaded exploded view complete with tweak lines
 Show all part numbers (balloons) and part list provided with the
question

5. Simulation
Prepare an exploded view presentation in “avi file” format showing the
assembly process.

III. Output
1. Produce 2D drawing and Isometric drawing on paper size A3 and complete
with title block as in the question paper.
2. Save your drawing in folder My Documents: \MED-CAD-LKS SMK NASIONAL
2014\Module 1\Competitor Name\name of the component.
