Computer Engineering as a Discipline


01 ELMS Activity 2 (Video Review)

Computer Engineering is a combination of Electrical Engineering and Computer


Science, wherein Computer Engineering curriculum is composed of 50% of Electrical
Engineering curriculum and 50% of Computer Science curriculum. In Electrical Engineering,
the students have to take all the Basic Circuit classes, Basics of Binary, the Signal Processing,
and the electronic courses/subjects. While in Computer Science, the students have to start
in the Basic Programming in C and Java, the Algorithms, and then the Arduino. Overall,
Computer Engineering have a skill in programming and software side, as well as the
hardware and circuitry side. And on top of being a mix/combination of electrical engineering
and computer science, there are the electives to choose in any upper divisions (Computer
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science classes), including the Computer
Security, Computer Vision, Autonomous Robot Navigation, Web Development, Music
Programming, Digital Control Systems, Computer Graphics, Artificial Intelligence, Language
Processing, Game Design, Cryptography, and Data Management.
