SCENARIO

A scenario is essentially a saved set of cell values which can be used for
performing some calculation(s). It allows us to save different set of
values within the same range of cells with different scenario names for
performing same calculations and analysis for each set of data. Each
scenario is named, and can be edited and formatted separately. When
spreadsheet is printed, only the contents of the currently active
scenario are printed.
Steps to create a scenario:
1> Select the required range of cells and click on Tools >> Scenario...
2> Type the required Scenario name and type the required comment.
3> In “Settings” area, check or uncheck the check boxes as per the
requirement and select desired color for the range of cells.
4> Click on OK button.

Notes:
1> A scenario can be selected in one of the two ways:
A> By clicking on the down arrow symbol displayed at the right side
of the scenario name cell and selecting the desired scenario name.
B> By clicking on the “Navigator”button available within “Sidebar
Deck” of OpenOffice Calc window (Click on Navigator button on
Standard Toolbar or Press F5 key) and Click on “Scenario” button.
Then, double clicking on the desired scenario name in the box
displaying the scenario names.
2> To Delete a scenario, open “Navigator” window by pressing f% key.
Click on “Scenario” button to display the list of scenarios created. Right
click on the scenario to delete and click on delete button. Click on “Yes”
button to confirm deletion.

Creating a Scenario
Goal Seek
It is a tool of OpenOffice Calc, which is used to calculate a value/result,
based on a formula, by automatically changing the value of an arbitrary
argument of the formula, keeping the other arguments fixed. The
variable argument can be a cell address or a cell range. The other
arguments of the formula can be cell addresses or fixed values. Only
one argument can be altered in a single goal Seek.
Steps to apply Goal Seek:
1> Type the required data in the required cells and type the required
formula in the target cell.
2> Click on the target cell to make it active cell and click on Tools >>
Goal Seek…
3> In “Goal Seek” dialog box,
4> Click on “Target Value” box and type the required new target value
to be displayed in the target cell.
5> Click on “Variable Cell” box and then click on the cell which is part of
the formula and is to be changed automatically to achieve the target
value.
6> Click on OK button.
