ABSTRACT

The sip's task is to record all of the company's data, just as I am required to record

employee/guard attendance. I have to keep track of the security guards' locations

where they went to work and their return times. Additionally, I must keep track of

some financial transactions, develop a ledger for the business, and keep a daily

journal of all transactions. I also kept the pay book up to date. This offers me a quick

overview of the accounting system and how accounting is carried out in the company.

I also study how to produce ledgers and get in-depth understanding of data input.I am

required to participate in some training provided by the HKS SECURITY AND

INTELLIGENCE PVT LTD on data entry and the accounting system used by the

company; they teach me how to use Excel and the Tally ERP to create ledgers. I got

knowledge about the security sector and how the government and business sector

cooperate in this session. I also went once to use the cash van service. The topic of my

report, which examines the development and comparison of several security

organizations, made this session incredibly informative. I also learned about some

success elements with the future plan to focus on for future growth in this report's

main difficulties and success factors section. The research, the topic, study on the

security services in India will assist you understand a thorough understanding of this

industry while looking at the range of business options in security organizations. HKS

ENVIRONMENT IN HKS SECURITY PVT LTD

I had an excellent experience working at HKS. It's a setting that makes you want to

work in a perfect professional setting. and you realize that you love being there and

that you really find yourself laughing with your coworkers. a setting that makes you

feel happy and unmindful of everything else. a spot we eagerly forward visiting again.

a pleasant workplace with nice coworkers and little to no office politics.

As an intern at hks, I made friends with smart coworkers and decent colleagues. They

were incredibly kind to me and helped me whenever I needed it.

In hks, I found a welcoming and cooperative work environment with chances for

career advancement and adaptable schedules.

7
Problem faced

During the internship I got to know about the problems encountered by the company

to sustain in the industry or market. the company is not marketed or advised well so

they are not able to reach most of the population. The competition in this industry is

also very high so they have to work more .

As hks security intelligence is new in the market so they have difficulty to get new

contracts they have also difficulty to get government contracts because the company

is new and they have low market capital and the government only gives contracts to

high capitals companies These are the problems faced by the companies.

Risk for the company

As this industry is full of risk in the security company they have to perform their

duties or services with very honesty, with a great responsibility , the workers have to

work hard with lots of courage as a security guard or officer whether a office guard or

an atm guard they have a great responsibilities to perform their work with honesty.if

anyone assign any task to security companies the security companies ensure their

security and all the managements for their clients.

If anything goes wrong the integrity and the value of the company are affected and

that would affect the market . The main clients are banks. They have required security

guards in banks, transportation of cash, and in the atm. so the risk of protecting bank

money is on the security company so they have to be very careful while choosing the

staff of the company so as to maintain their dignity.

13
4 Introduction to private security companies

4.1 Introduction to private security

A "security guard" is one of the first individuals you see when you approach a Teller

Machines ( atms Machine (ATM). Normally, an outside "security guard" manages

entry to the ATM booth. He keeps an eye out for theft, criminal activity, and damage

to the ATM booth. Helping customers who are having problems using their ATM

cards is one of the numerous duties the security officer conducts. As a result, the

security guard at the ATM booth acts as a link between a bank and the customer. Let's

try to understand what the term "security" implies today. The Latin phrase securus,

which means "safe" and "free from danger," is from which the word "security"

originates.

As a result, security is defined as being free from risk exposure, having a sense of

security and assurance, not worrying, protecting a property from theft, invasion,

looting, or destruction, and preserving life. In a social and technological context that

is rapidly evolving, understanding security concerns and processes is essential for

improving security. The prevention of crimes against people, property, and secret

information is security's main objective. Security offers a safe environment where

people may go about their daily lives and do business without fear. India has two main

types of Public and private sectors of security. Public organizations offer security

services that are only funded by the federal or state governments in the public interest.

Among these groups are the security forces of the federal and state governments.

Private security services are offered to clients by private firms for a fee.

14
4.2 overview of current industry

The demand for security services is increasing as a result of factors such as increasing

urban development, risks from criminal activity and terrorism that are both real and

perceived, the belief that general populace safety measures are inadequate, and the

beginnings of a middle class with investments to protect and the economic ability to

pay for extra security precautions. The market for intelligence agencies is also

benefited by rising building construction and a strengthening economy.

The Indian personal protection market was predicted to be worth INR 1.3 million

crore (USD 8.8 billions) in 2016 and is anticipated to grow to INR 200 000 billion

(USD 15.2 billion) by 2020, and INR 1.5 lakh crore (USD billion in 2015 billion) by

2022, according to the most current industry predictions. In addition to raising its

revenues, the Private Defense Industry (PSI) is also updating its recruiting practises.

By putting a focus on customer satisfaction, staff training and skill development,

employee welfare funds, ensuring prompt salary payment, and discovering growth

opportunities for high-performing employees, leading industry players are setting new

standards in the field. One of the largest employers in India is the private security

sector, which now employs 8.9 million people with the potential to grow to 3.1

million by 20221.

The PSI's position as the largest contributor of corporate taxes to the National

Treasury is another distinguishing feature.

4.3 difference between private security and public security

The government's responsibility is to safeguard persons, groups, and institutions from

hazards to their performance and wellbeing (s).It is offered by businesses that provide

security agencies and is entirely funded by the government for the benefit of a general

populace.Public security organizations are responsible for preventing crimes as well as

15
other criminal offenses, assisting victims of crimes, developing and filing criminal

prosecution, capturing or detaining suspects, investigating into offenses, carrying out

quest and arrest warrants, gathering evidence, and presenting evidence in court. For

instance, the police enforce legal and administrative obligations while simultaneously

keeping an eye on inhabitants and public amenities.Airports and other public and private

properties are safeguarded by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).The Indian

Railways are safeguarded by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), which also makes sure

that everyone at train stops and onboard passenger trains is safe. The Home Guard is a

paramilitary police organization in India that assists the State police in maintaining law

and order, provides internal security, and provides community assistance in times of

disaster like fires, cyclones, earthquakes, epidemics, etc.

private security

The phrase "private security industry," in the opinion of some experts, encompasses all

types of private companies and individuals who provide a range of security-related

services, including guard, patrol, lie detecting, investigation, and armored transportation.

Private security provides protection against criminal activities as well as three more

threats, including accidents, errors, and unethical behavior, making it more than just a

"personal police" service. Private security companies provide both private and

governmental clients with armed and unarmed protection services and expertise. These

companies specialize in guard & patrol duty, including security services like parking

security, bodyguard, and guard dog. These services are generally referred to as

"protection of persons and/or assets." These companies provide a range of services,

including deterring unlawful entrance.

16
4.4 types of private security

4.5 Types of services provided by privatesecurity companies

Manned security monitoring and safeguarding facilities, Transportation safety, security

audits close observation and safety, crowd control, event safety, check your background,

Executive security Services for cash and electronic security replenishing ATMs Cash

collection and delivery, as well as cash in transit services for electronic security

Command and control center, alarm system, access control system, various electronic

devices

4.6 Roles and responsibility Public and private security

Personnel's roles and duties Security workers provide a protective, preventative, and

investigative function.

17
Protecting people, property, and information against internal as well as external

dangers and violence is the general responsibility of security professionals. Police

personnel that work for law enforcement organizations collaborate with local

communities.Disruption directed against people Incidents like armed assault,

kidnapping, hijacking, assassination, murder, rape, etc. may be

involved.unauthorized action on property This might include, among other things,

burglary, robbery, arson, sabotage, and bombing.Cyberthreats or espionag It is a

typical method of undermining private information protection. This aspect of

security includes monitoring for disruptive activity that could target data and

property. An important risk might be avoided by early detection of criminally

motivated individuals, guns, ammunition, and explosives. When a crime is

discovered while it is still being planned, such as when a group of persons

congregate in a house or an area and make preparations to commit a crime,

detective security is considered to be at its finest.Public affairs The Unarmed

Security Guard must maintain constant communication with the general population

in various locations, such a residential complex. If someone needs help or

information, they can go to the security guard. The guard must interact with the

public in a professional and effective manner.

18
5.Growth of private security in india

5.1 Size of the industry and employment prospects

Over 75% of a private security services market globally, including in India, is made

up of manned guards, making it a substantial part. By 2022, the private security

industry in India has the potential to hire 3.1 million more workers, based on a

conservative projection. Currently, it employs little around 8.9 million people.

11.7 million private security guards, including supervisors, are employed by more

than 22,000 private security companies (PSAs) in India. As support of their relocation

efforts, the bulk of these PSAs are run and managed by veterans.

The majority of the labor force in India comes from the northern, central, and eastern

areas, with the highest concentrations of workers coming from the states of Bihar,

Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jaipur, and Assam.Security guards make up 90% of

the workforce in the private security industry; they are entry-level employees with

little to no industry knowledge. The organized sector employs just 10% of the private

security services workforce, while the industry is mostly unorganized. Given the

anticipated expansion of industry, there is a definite possibility for employment.

Additionally, considering that the majority of the workforce is employed in the

unorganized sector, skilling potential is also evident.

19
5.2 policy issues and concerning private security industry

The most important law regulating the private security industry in India is the Private

Security Services Regulation Act (PSARA), which was developed by the Indian

Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), GoI. The Act outlines rules for conducting a

security business as well as training requirements for security personnel. Witness

statements for FDI policy compliance, where applicable, the upkeep of statutory

records, the beginning of activities, etc. are only a few of the compliance criteria that

20
PSARA mandates for security services.Other (indicative) legislation that apply to PSI

besides the PSARA include:

I. the Arms Act of 1959;

II. the FDI Policy;

III. the Minimum Wages Act of 1948;

IV. the Provident Fund Act of 1952;

V. the Employee State Insurance Act of 1948;

VI. the Payment of Bonus Act of 1965;

VII. the Payment of Gratuity Act of (1972)

● Federal and state laws that conflict

The fact that the security industry Mandatory Police Verification

The majority of states have different requirements for required police verification of

business directors, as well as different processing times for such applications.

Additionally, the security company hiring them is required to undertake a police

verification of each security guard. The lengthy procedures and inconsistent timely

completion of police verification place PSAs in a difficult situation when it comes to

hiring or deploying guards.

● Changes to the FDI cap

permitted up to 74% of FDI through the approved route for PSAs in India and 49%

through the automatic route for FDI. However, the PSARA was not appropriately

amended in response to the changes in the FDI Policy. According to the applicable

PSARA regulations, an Indian must own a majority of the firm, which is directly at

odds with the updated FDI criteria, which allow

● challenges pertaining to the present provisions of the Public Order act of 1959.

21
● The PSARA forbids the employment of armed security as a service. The

Indian Weapons Act, 1959's current provisions further restrict the issuance of

weapons possession licenses to individual applicants alone. Private security

firms are therefore compelled by law to cooperate with armed persons.

5.3 Shift from unorganized to organized

The Private Security Segment, which mostly operates in the unorganized sector of our

economy,is the industry that employs the most people, only behind the agriculture

sector.

Industry conversations predict that the labor supply will likely rise over the next 10

years at the a CAGR of about 10%. As a result, every year between 70 and 100 lakh

new individuals join the pool, just 20 percent of which are believed to originate from

organized supply (those who comply with PSARA training standards and are

expected to stay for more than one year). In 2014, just 35% of a sector was organized;

by 2020, this figure is expected to rise to 50%.

Contrarily, the leading 7-8 industry participants control 75-80 percent of the

marketplace for cash and digital security, which accounts for 20-25% of the personal

security market, as was previously stated.

22
● Impact of GST

switch from an unorganized to an organized sector, aided by the transition from manual to

digital technology, has been brought about by the new tax system. By integrating the

unorganized sector into the organized sector, GST eliminates the unfair advantage it now

enjoys. In practice, GST has been a step in the right direction since it has leveled the

playing field for industry participants and brought the unorganized sector up to pace with

the organized sector.

As a result, unorganized organizations are now compelled to compete for customers with

organized entities by changing their business models into ones that are legal and

compliant.

● The reclassification of workers in the industry has opened the door for a stronger

regulatory framework (minimum salaries, PF requirements, gratuities, insurance, etc.), as

well as improved training standards that organized players may offer to their staff. To have

the desired impact, this must be applied throughout all states, though.

● PSARA compliance measures Companies must now get and maintain a license in order to

conduct business in the sector with the establishment of the PSARA.

23
5.4 Combining human and technological resources

PSI is no newcomer to the technical developments that are providing the private security

agencies offered by the companies today with a fresh face, given the growing use of

technology throughout all industries. One of the biggest markets for technology is in

surveillance, which has great growth potential both worldwide and in India. India's

developing demand for surveillance systems is a result of a number of factors, including

growing public and private infrastructure, rising crime rates, and growing fears about

terrorism. Video surveillance systems have traditionally dominated the electronic security

industry in India. The Indian surveillance cameras industry, which was estimated to be

worth $1.58 billion in 2014, is anticipated to grow to $8.24 billion in 2022 at a CAGR of

22.96%21.

Man vs. Technology

due to the rapidly changing technology and increasing reliance on technological solutions

in every industry, particularly in the private security sector. Businesses who offer manned

security are fast realizing how technology may improve their offerings. In a market that is

growing increasingly costly and comparative, where even the smallest efficiency gains

might result in significant margin increases, they also recognise that investing in fresh

platforms and systems can provide them a competitiveness.

There are several technologies available today that can safeguard and identify flaws like

water leaks, keep properties checked for intruders, and give police evidence to prosecute.

Mandated guarding serves as a visual deterrent to criminal activity, trespassing, and

vandalism.

24
Human-reported incidents are more likely to be true incidents than false alarms. a reaction

to utility issues on the spot.Services for general management and inspection.Examining

CCTV footage in real time, if applicable.Alarm system monitoring.

Manned security personnel may be able to detect a compromise before CCTV does

technology-based remedies

A property might have several alarm sensors installed all over it to act as many "eyes"

atonce.

Alarms are watchful; they continuously monitor.

Considerable cost savings against manned guards.

If implemented, warnings can be both visual and audio.

Real-time video can be used to document breach technological trends

Intelligent Machines (AI)

Robots that employ AI are becoming more common in the security sector as a method

for companies to improve situational awareness and supplement current security

patrols. Businesses can greatly benefit from security robots.

Combining robots and AI

Security robots gather information by combining data from several sensors. Data

collection and analysis are made simple by the collaboration of open-platform apps.

Security personnel now have the capacity to analyze the pictures taken by onboard

cameras thanks to inbuilt AI software.

Using drones to monitor

For the purposes of controlling, influencing, guiding, or safeguarding, The attentive

observation of a person, a group of individuals, their behavior, their activities, their

infrastructure, their facility, etc . Security companies utilize technology to supplement

25
the conventional forms of surveillance, including share-, data mining and profiles,

camera observation, human surveillance, and biometric surveillance.Internet of

Things (IoT)

The "Internet of Things" refers to the everyday items that have begun to appear in our

homes and are capable of sending and receiving data.

Networks of different sensors are used by security businesses to measure and monitor

the actual environment, respond to it, and provide security officials with the required

information for analysis and action. Among these sensors are motion sensors,

entrance detectors for doors and windows, glass shatter sensors, and video cameras.

Sensor technologies typically detect changes using infrared energy, acoustics, and

magnetic forces.

26
6 GOODS AND SERVICE GST TAX AND HOW IT AFFECTS

PRIVATE SECURITY COMPANIES

6.1 issues on the GST system

it was anticipated that the oddity of a false tax base would be resolved. This quirk,

meanwhile, has persisted under the GST system as well. As wages, PF, ESI, and other

expenses are essentially undertaken by these organizations on behalf of the clients,

this increases PSAs' concerns about cash flow. According to the breakdown of client

revenue, costs associated with the workforce account for between 85 and 90 percent,

with the remaining portion being the service fee for PSAs. This raises more concerns

about the viability of these companies because unorganized sector participants may

not be able to overcome the obstacle of theGST of 18% being applied to the total

amount of money that was collected from clients. The issues brought up demonstrate

the necessity for a prompt settlement of the worries in this sector. Given PSI's

dedication to projects that promote skill development and job creation, as well as its

expert help to the state apparatus in maintaining public safety, it is crucial that this

sector get favorable treatment underneath the GST system. The following options for

resolving PSAs' Stamp duty issues may be considered in this situation.

6.1 solution and suggestions

6.1.a Tax liability shifting from a forward to a reverse charge basis

27
Instead of PSAs, it is urged that consumers should shoulder more of the

tax burden. This would save PSAs from having to cope with

sustainability issues following the introduction of GST. As a

consequence, PSAs would be created to meet the demands of the country

in terms of security and would make investments in crucial areas like

talent development and skill creation.

6.1.b Tax burden to be restricted to PSA service fees

suggested excluding wages plus mandatory contributions paid to staff on behalf of the

clients from the tax base again for imposition of GST. Therefore, the taxable income

for Exchange for future repayment should be the gross amount received from

customers less any payments made as wages or other benefits. In this context, it's

important to remember that comparable regulations have been approved in many

economies to safeguard the viability of these labor-intensive companies. This is

justified by the fact that security firms do not have any discretion or control over the

part of money that is designated as wages or other benefits for the employees and that

the proprietors or clients of PSAs pay the security guards' salary.

28
6.1.c deduction in GST rate from 18% to 5%

Currently, many clients have had to reevaluate their labor requirements due to the

18% Goods and services tax imposed by Public service announcements on an

increased tax base. The viability of businesses whose primary source of revenue is the

provision of manned security services is particularly impacted by this.

Concerns regarding the workforce's job stability would be allayed with the proposed

tax rate reduction.

6.3 conclusion

Considered a substantial indirect tax reform, the implementation of the GST is

expected to deliver the country's economy the much-needed boost. It is essential to

remove any inadvertent obstacles along the path in order to achieve the desired

outcome. Given the strong justifications provided above and the enormous growth

potential of this company, it is predicted that the GST challenges PSI is now

experiencing will be rectified in the near future.Considered a substantial indirect tax

7 Factors boosting India's desire for private security

7.1 Low police-to-population proportion

Compared to the proportion that the UN advises, this ratio is low. Every lakh people

should have a minimum of 222 police officers, according to the UN. The need for

private security services has increased as a result of the lack of police officers

employed by the government as security professionals.

India has a dismal police-to-population ratio. As a result, there is now a clear need for

a security service alternative. There are currently 131 policemen for every one lakh

inhabitants in India, according to the police to population ratio.there should be 176

officers for every lakh persons in the current population.

7.2 High index of terrorism worldwide

Alarms have been raised about the need to boost security services in India in response

to the rise in terrorist activity there.

• There were 1545 occurrences in total in 2014, with 624 of those being

terrorist-related, 404 being homicides, 619 being injury incidents, and 158 being

property losses.

• Due to the rise in the population, many have begun to feel uneasy and

uncomfortable.

Because of the rise in terrorist attacks around the nation, people have begun to feel

uneasy and unsecure.

31
7.3 Increase in crime rate

The country's growing crime rate is one of the factors driving up the demand for

private protection services in the country. In 2013, there were over 66.40 lakh police

complaints and investigations made underneath the IPC and SLL, up from 60.41 lakh

instances in 20126, showing an increase in the amount of criminal acts over the

previous several years.

7.4 The amount of public events has increased

• The frequency of public events has increased significantly in India as well,

necessitating a direct demand for crowd control and private security services.

• The number of entertainment-related events in the nation has increased, and these

events continue to draw sizable crowds.

Without the assistance of private security companies, these incidents will inevitably

need to be handled.

7.5 Driver for cash services

The country's immediate demand for private security services has also been prompted

by the growth of cash services.

32
The need for private security services has directly increased as the number of ATMs

has spread across the country. India now has 158,891 ATMs, up from 95,686 in 2012,

according to data from the year 2014 The quantity of debit and credit card

transactions has increased in tandem with the number of ATMs, forcing the banks to

further up their security measures. In 2012, there were 47.12 crore ATM transactions;

in 2014, there were 57.18 crore transactions.

The number of transactions using these ATMs has also expanded, necessitating the

need for improved and more robust security services.

In comparison to the number of transactions made through ATMs nationwide in 2012

(131,838), 179,776 crore were made in 2014. Additionally, the quantity of banks and

bank branches has grown over the past ten years, increasing the need for human

guards and CCTV monitoring. There were 68,681 scheduled commercial bank

branches in India in 2006; by 2013, there were 102,343 scheduled commercial bank

branches

7.6 Increased urbanization

Towns and villages, dwellings, infrastructure, and construction industry development

projects are all growing in number. Over the past few years, there has been a surge in

the number of hotels, shopping centers, hospitals, houses of worship, and other public

areas, necessitating a significant amount of private security services.A lot of

intelligence agencies, manned guards, are needed for the construction industry.

33
7.7 India is a nation of pilgrims

The security of numerous holy sites, to which pilgrims travel, is a worry. The need

for private security services has increased as a result of the rise in foot traffic at

religious sites. The nation has also seen a rise in religious riots during the past several

years. In 2013, 69.7 lakh international visitors arrived in India, up from 65.77 lakh in

the year before (2012).

7.8 Future prospects - Government programmes like Made in India and

Smart Cities

Only with introduction of the City Development initiative, the Indian government

aims to create roughly 100 smart city initiatives with a total government investment of

more than INR 48,000 crore. For local administrations, public safety and security

must come first. This would include defence against criminal activity, terrorism,

accidents, and natural disasters. The four planning components that make up the

concept of smart cities are physical facilities, social infrastructure, institutional

framework, and economic infrastructure. One of the major pillars of institutional

infrastructure is security. With "Make in India," the manufacturing industry is also

anticipated to grow. Private security services therefore have a substantial market in

both these new building and renovation projects.

34
7.9 heightened awareness of personal safety

With the growth of the upper income level group, there is a clear correlation between

the requirement for private protection services and that growth.

The need for escort services with qualified security professionals has expanded as a

result of growing urbanization and female employment prospects.Home protection

has also had a considerable surge in recent years, as more people have started to feel

the necessity for greater escort agencies and personal guards .

35
8 Challenges & Success factor in the private security

industry

8.1 key challenges in this industry

Despite the industry's recent tremendous expansion, there are still a number of issues

that might limit its potential in the future. These difficulties include finding and

keeping qualified workers, controlling compliance-related expenses, and navigating

regulatory barriers to purchasing guns.

1. A lack of qualified labor: The private security services sector relies heavily on

labor and needs a sizable workforce to maintain its growing pace. Additionally, when

their technical talents and skill sets advance, security guards look into alternative

career paths like electrician or cab driver, which allows them to increase their pay.

The sector is also struggling with a lack of qualified labor. According to industry

conversations, clients frequently demand qualified security professionals. However,

some players don't seem to make major investments in training infrastructure,

especially in the unorganized sector.

2. High attrition rates: The security services sector has serious attrition issues. This is

caused by a number of things, including subpar benefits and pay packages, a poor

grasp of the operational environment, and a dearth of possibilities for professional

growth.

3. Possession of firearms: Security services companies, particularly those engaged in

cash services, handle the actual transportation and storage of cash and other valuables.

36
In order to assure the safe transit of these expensive artifacts, further security

measures including the ability to carry weapons are typically necessary.

Private security service providers must rely on guards who have a license to carry a

handgun for personal use since they are unable to get licensed firearms of their own.

8.2 success factor of security industry

Competitive pricing and sustenance of margins

Given how fiercely competitive the market is and how little differentiation consumers

perceive, pricing is crucial.

Labor cost plus mark-up is the main business model used by manned guards, which

dominates the security services market. Given that the company operates in a

low-margin industry, cost containment is of utmost importance.

Given how fiercely competitive the market is and how little differentiation consumers

perceive, pricing is crucial.Labor cost plus mark-up is the main business model used

by manned guards, which dominates the security services market.trained personnel, as

well as background checks .A major problem in the sector is the high attrition rate and

lack of competent labor. For serviceability and to satisfy customer needs, a steady

supply of labor is essential. The imbalance of power is tipped in favor of labor due to

37
the demand-supply mismatch. In order to assure a high retention rate, some agencies

apparently provide above-average minimum wages.Compliance with rules It is

essential for businesses to uphold the trust of major corporations by meeting

compliance demands of clients through effective MIS and IR management. In a

similar vein, strict adherence to laws and rules regulating the sector is necessary to

guarantee efficient operations and consumer confidence.Effective cash service route

planning .To guarantee productive and profitable operations, route planning is crucial

in the cash services industry.

8.3 future strategy for the upcoming trends

Markets for manned guards and cash services are expanding quickly, and businesses

we spoke with said organic development is an important component of their growth

strategy. Players in the market are extending their geographic reach across the nation

because local presence is important. Additionally, they are looking at potential in user

groups where they are not yet active.

One of the main development opportunities that major organizations are evaluating is

the provision of innovation services, including such remote site monitoring and the

installation and operation of electronic security systems.

8.4 Growth enablers for future growth

A strong strategy roadmap must be developed to deploy assets and management

bandwidth among numerous high-growth categories, such as armed patrolling, cash

management, and related services, given the industry's expansion potential and

intense competition. Businesses must prioritize future growth and have a sound plan

38
for evaluating new initiatives pertaining to their present business verticals and

entering new market sectors

excellence in operations

Security service companies' development will be aided by the expansion of the

number of personnel they employ. Due to declining profit margins and a shortage of

skilled employees, businesses will need to leverage technology, develop standardized

procedures, and develop cost-effective human management solutions.Due to the

restriction on the purchase of commercial weapons permits, utilizing technology and

following worldwide safety standards to prevent theft or fraud are becoming more and

more crucial in the financial services sector. Participants within the cash services

business will also need to handle route planning efficiently because serving more

ATMs per day could increase their profitability.By leveraging their current credentials

and relationships for additional services like maintenance practices and pest control,

businesses will have to increase their proportion of client expenditure.Businesses will

likely need to increase their capacity to provide value-added services like advising

and education, which might lead to higher margins, given the industry's margin

issues.a keen customer-centeredness.

39
9 Need for the study and Literature review

In recent years, the private security sector has taken on a significant role. otherwise,

they could have continued to live outside the realm of official work. In this regard, the

private security sector's contribution to the creation of jobs in India is exceptional.

Nearly 7 million individuals are currently employed in the sector. This market is

anticipated to post a sizable CAGR in the near future due to the country's increasing

urbanization and changes in how governments, corporations, and individuals perceive

security. The Government's emphasis on the creation of Smart Cities is particularly

significant.

More than 60 lakh people are directly employed by the intelligence services sector in

the country . This sector is particularly popular among young people who fall under

the BPL category as a source of employment. This industry is in fact only getting

started, with the potential to provide the second-highest number of jobs and a sizable

amount of tax money for the government.

40
9.1 literature review

Bruce vaugn 2 january 2008 a article named The use and abuse of intelligence

services in India . This article is mainly based on the public security of India . they

lack the ability to give their thoughts on the private sector.

Herbert Wolf wrote a book titled private security and intelligence provision in

(2008). This book is mainly based on the UK but they explain some important factors

about private security and why we need private security and other various factors but

they lack any information about India .

KC Logan book 2017 HOME LAND OF SECURITY AND INTELLIGENCE he

wrote about the private security and intelligence he explained very well about these

actors in his book but the same he lacks to give certain information about the indian

market.

11 Research Methodology

Research design used in this report

The current study relies on descriptive-based research with a mixed research

methodology that uses both qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The goal of the

study is to learn more about the private intelligence and security market in India,

including its drivers of growth, competitive landscape, obstacles, and important

success criteria. The elements affecting the sector are in-depthly examined in this

study.

Data gathering and data source

The information is gathered using Google forms. The form link is shared around my

friends, and it took two weeks to collect the data needed for the information

collection.efficient way of data collecting method is used for this study

To gather the data for the research, both secondary and primary sources of

information are also utilized. A variety of interviews were conducted to collect the

data. To gain their thoughts on the matter, we had a discussion with the security

officers and receptionist. The secondary data was acquired from a number of surveys

conducted by different sources, including both public and private surveys. A small

amount of data was also acquired from the GST website. Information from Google

forms is collected to better understand peoples' viewpoints.

54
Sample size

The sample size of the study is 60 in which 30 responses collected through the google

forms the data is collected through the responses received from the google form.

and the 30 responses collected on personal interviews with the security staff.

Primary data

Primary data is collected through the google form and personal interview taken by

me. There are 30 responses received in the google form in the time period of 3 weeks

and 30 response collected by the interviews

Secondary data

FCCI and gst of india

Statistics methods and tools

A variety of statistical techniques have been employed for the purpose of analyzing

the data, such as graded average score for assessing the hypothesis, microsoft office

excel, and some assistance from google form to combine the data. These techniques

have been used to measure the various phenomena and analyze the information

efficiently and effectively to draw sound conclusions.

55
12 finding from the study

1. From this study we get to know about the detailed information on the private

security services across India . This sector is very vast but it is undiscovered

yet not very well known by most people so I tried to uncover most of the

details about this sector.

2. Indian private security and intelligence have to learn from the global market

how they can increase their services in more fields because it is a very open

kind of service sector. It covers a very large type of services under it so we

have to learn from it.

3. in this study we get to know about the GST factor or issue the companies are

facing right now that made a roadblock from them.

4. In this study we know about the success factor, challenges faced by the sector

and the strategy to improve in the future and grow in the market . so we have

to grow through it to improve the market or the private security industry.

5. we get to know about the difference between private security and government

security and some key differences between private and government security

agencies.

6. types of jobs under the private security creating jobs opportunity for the

population how the technology affects the industry.

56
13 Conclusion

In the ensuing three to four years, it's anticipated that the security services sector

would experience considerable expansion. The demand for guards is predicted to

expand, which will fuel market growth for manned guarding. Customers' increasing

understanding of compliance standards is also anticipated to lead to more organized

play in the sector. Due to the expansion of sectors with stricter standards, such

education and healthcare, it is anticipated that there would be an increase in the

organized penetration of the manned guarding sector. If adopted, the suggested

modifications would probably be advantageous to the sector. The industry also

believes that as consumers become more aware of the value of and expenses

associated with compliance, they will be more prepared to pay additional expenditures

to raise compliance standards.

In the next three to four years, it will probably still be difficult to find and keep

qualified workers in the business. In addition, the organized sector continues to

experience margin pressure, making cost reduction and efficient human resource

management crucial for the industry's successful expansion.
