Metal Fabrication ‘Over the past decade, Aurora WV has proven its metal fabrication expertise on military programs such as Joint STARS, IFTE, E-2C and EA-6B. ‘The Benedum Airport facility specializes in the fabrication of shect metal components for military/aerospace industry. From the initial receipt of sheer stock, our Cincinnati shear cuts aluminum and steel to desired sizes. Numerically controlled punch presses cut flat designs in precise patterns. Smaller patterns are created using various saws, nibblers and notchers. Detail parts undergo deburring operations with tumblers, sanders or grinders. Parts can be engraved, drilled and formed on a variety of machines best suited to the product. Riveting is a major process used in the production of our Joint STARS product. A complete machine EA-68 Prowler shop, ranging from 2 to 4 axis CNC machining a es an centers, milling machines and lathes round out our abilities to create a large number of varied metal components. Our finishing processes include silk screen stenciling and painting in a 22 x20 12 ft. booth. The facility also acquired the capacity to heat treat parts in-house. Chemical processes not performed on site are provided through use of qualified suppliers that have supported our products reliably.
