CHAPTER I
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
1.1 Product Development
1.1.1 Product Development Process
In PT. Dharma Development Process we almost never have development process
because the product based on the customer needs and usually we got the special
purpose machine or custom machines that every company does not have similar
machines and it makes the company does not have sustain product that produce
everyday
1.1.2 Organizational Types
PT. Dharma Precision Tools is operates under functional organizational structures.
They are grouped based on their specific skills and knowledge. It vertically
structures each department with roles from the president to finance and sales
departments, to customer service, to employees assigned to one product or service.
1.1.3 Variants of The Development Process
PT. Dharma precision tools implemented development process use customize
product-market pull products variants. PT. DPT use technology push products
variants because there are a lot of machine that used in many company and every
machine is not the same. So, some company need jig or spm machine with specific
qualification and requirements.
1.2 Industrial Design

Industrial design applied in the PT. Dharma Precision is user-driven product, so the
company just produce the product base on customer order.
1.2.1 Industrial Design process
Because PT. Dharma Precision is user-driven technology company so the industrial
design is we get from customer.
1.2.2 Industrial Design Type
Industrial design applied in the PT. DPT is include in user-driven products.
Industrial design process focus on the user needs based on the sketch both 3D and
2D and the functional of the machine. User-driven Products is from concept
development, concept testing, system-level design and testing and refinement.
1.3 Design for Environment
1.3.1 Packaging Design for Environment

The packaging from PT. DPT is just using plastic wrap and cardboard, and the
waste is not to much due to just several parts that needs to cover with plastic.
1.4 Business Model Innovation
1.4.1 Machine Customization Spec
PT. DPT providing customization specification machine adjusting with the
customer needs. Even it will be increasing the cost for the customer, sometimes
they will accept the cost. It depends on the customization is from the customer or
from PT. DPT.
1.5 Design for Manufacturing
1.5.1 Design for Manufacturing Process
PT. DPT is the machine maker that must be have a design process to produce their
product. After bidding with the customer by marketing department and
engineering department, PPIC will do some planning which material will be
needed, which process that will be conduct in In-House and Out-House. If there
any production conducting in Out-House, purchasing department will looking for
the Sub-Contract that can provide the product like the PT. DPT needs. After that
purchasing team will be conduct a bidding with sub-contract and will be
maintaining the progress of the sub-contract itself. After that, if the production
parts of sub-contractor and In-House done, there will be assembling and trial
process, if the trial fulfill the requirement will be next into delivery, if not fulfill
the requirements will be checked the abnormality and will trial until fulfill the
requirements.
1.5.2 Design for Manufacturing Impacts
The impacts for the process will make the product from PT. DPT have a good
quality and have precise accuracy and will make profit for both customer and PT.
DPT.
CHAPTER II
MARKETING PROCESS
2.1 Target Marketing
PT. DPT is B2B (Business to Business) and B2G (Business to Government). For
B2B the company providing several machines jig for automotive company such as
Toyota, Yamaha, Astra Honda, Daihatsu, Hyundai and many more. For B2G one
example project that has been done by the company is making conveyor for Halim
Airport that currently in renovation and the company provides the services like that.
For the marketing and production quite unique, like if the other company do some
marketing via digital marketing or other social media, but in this company doing
marketing by relations, exhibitions.
2.2 Segmentation
PT. DPT classified their customer segmentation on two type, demographics and
psychology. For demographics the customer segmentation are from manufacturing
company, automotive company, engineers. For psychology the customer
segmentation are the company that want get the high quality product with lowest
price, from both category that the segmentation from PT. DPT and Dharma Group.
2.3 Flow Process Marketing
PT. DPT is the machine maker that must be have a design process to produce their
product. After bidding with the customer by marketing department and engineering

2.4 Key Position
PT. DPT support the customer and manufacture that always do innovation, and here
the PT. DPT ready to answer innovation that made by the customer.
